Aspire Academy recently hosted a successful table tennis training camp with players from Sweden, India, and Croatia, along with student-athletes from Aspire Academy and two players from the Qatar Table Tennis Federation. Led by Aspire’s Head Table Tennis Coach, Peter Karlsson, the 10-day camp focused on training and sightseeing, showcasing all that Qatar has to offer. Visiting coaches from India and Croatia were also present to assist in the training sessions and provide valuable insights.

Josip Jerkovic, a coach from Croatia, praised the camp for offering a holistic approach to training, focusing not only on technical skills but also on physical strength and game strategy. He emphasized the importance of young players getting the opportunity to compete against a variety of opponents and learn from different playing styles. The facilities at Aspire were highly commended, with Jerkovic highlighting the importance of players being able to train and explore other sports in a world-class environment.

Isak Alfredsen, a Swedish player, highlighted the mental aspect of the game as a key focus during the camp, stating that playing against players from various countries helped him refine his psychological approach to matches. Rishabh Saini, a senior coach from India, praised Aspire Academy for its outstanding facilities and hospitality, noting the importance of players experiencing different styles and approaches to table tennis from players of various nationalities.

For the Aspire and QTTF players, the camp served as preparation for the upcoming West Asia event in Jordan at the end of August. Peter Karlsson emphasized that these training camps are not just about table tennis development but also about cultural exchange and learning from different perspectives. Overall, the camp was a valuable experience for all participants, allowing them to improve their skills, learn from top coaches, and build relationships with players from around the world.
