Arsenal’s women’s football team will have their home games at the Emirates Stadium starting next season due to the overwhelming interest in the team. This move comes as Arsenal plans to play 11 games at the Emirates, including eight Women’s Super League matches and three potential Champions League games if they qualify for the group stages. Additionally, home legs in any Champions League knockout ties will also be played at the Emirates, with remaining fixtures taking place at Arsenal’s Meadow Park ground.

The decision to move the women’s team to the Emirates Stadium comes after the success of six WSL games played there this season, which drew an average crowd of over 52,000. The team experienced two complete sell-outs and set three WSL attendance records during these games. Arsenal’s chief executive Vinai Venkatesham noted the extraordinary growth in supporters attending games at the Emirates and expressed excitement about making it the main home for Arsenal Women to give more fans the opportunity to watch the team play.

Arsenal Women’s head coach Jonas Eidevall also expressed his enthusiasm for playing at the Emirates Stadium as their main home next season. He highlighted the special connection between the team and their supporters, who have consistently shown up in large numbers and provided unwavering support. Eidevall looks forward to playing in front of larger crowds every week and continuing to build on the team’s success.

The move to the Emirates Stadium signifies a significant milestone for Arsenal’s women’s team and reflects the growing popularity and success of women’s football. With the potential to play in front of larger crowds and on a bigger stage, the team has the opportunity to further engage with fans and showcase their talent. The decision also aligns with the club’s commitment to promoting gender equality in football and providing equal opportunities for both the men’s and women’s teams to thrive and succeed.

As the women’s game continues to gain momentum and increase its fan base, having a prestigious venue like the Emirates Stadium as their main home will elevate the profile of Arsenal Women and women’s football in general. The move represents a step forward in the recognition and support of women’s sports, highlighting the importance of investing in and promoting women’s football at the highest level. It also reflects the club’s dedication to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for fans of all genders to enjoy and support football.

Overall, the decision to make the Emirates Stadium the main home for Arsenal Women represents a significant development in the growth and recognition of women’s football. With the potential to play in front of larger crowds and on a bigger stage, the team has the opportunity to showcase their talent, engage with fans, and continue their success. This move underscores Arsenal’s commitment to gender equality in football and demonstrates the increasing importance of promoting and supporting women’s sports. Fans can look forward to exciting games and a vibrant atmosphere as Arsenal Women take the field at the Emirates Stadium next season.
