Armstrong thrilled after winning Summer Open title at Jumeirah Golf Estates

Patrick Armstrong emerged as the overall champion in the Jumeirah Golf Estates annual Summer Open over the Fire course, playing his best golf and achieving an all-time personal best score of 43 points. The field of 82 golfers participated in the 18-hole event, competing in both gross and net Stableford divisions, with men playing from the Tournament Orange Tees and women from the Green Tees. Armstrong secured the victory by shooting an even par 72 score, with the nearest challenger being Parvez Ahmed who finished as the overall runner-up with 42 points. Joshua Worton took third place on a countback with 41 points.

In the gross division, Mikhail Pinto stole the show with a bogey-free round of gross 66, 42 points, winning the division by four points. As a previous winner on the GEM International Amateur Invitational Golf Tour, Pinto was no stranger to the stage when he collected his trophy as the Gross Summer Open Champion. Following a back-nine countback, Tom Stephenson, the 2024 Jumeirah Golf Estates Club Champion, secured the next best gross score with a score of Gross 70, two under par with 38 points.

The Summer Open at Jumeirah Golf Estates saw an exciting competition with golfers showcasing their skills on the course. Armstrong’s impressive performance and all-time personal best score of 43 points earned him the title of overall champion. The event brought together a field of 82 golfers, with men and women competing in different divisions. It was a day filled with great shots, birdies, and eagles, showcasing the talent and competitive spirit of the participants.

Armstrong’s hot start with four net birdies in his first six holes set the tone for his remarkable round. Despite facing strong competition from players like Parvez Ahmed and Joshua Worton, Armstrong maintained his lead and finished with a score that no other competitor could match. This victory marked a significant achievement for Armstrong, highlighting his dedication and skill in the game of golf.
