Jofra Archer made a strong comeback in international cricket as he claimed two important wickets in England’s victory over Pakistan in the second T20 match. Jos Buttler was awarded the man of the match for his brilliant knock of 84 runs off 51 balls. Archer’s return to the team after 14 months was much anticipated, and he did not disappoint, showcasing his skills with the ball. Despite a costly first over, Archer finished with two wickets for 28 runs, impressing everyone with his performance.

Muhammad Rizwan was dismissed in the first over by Moeen Ali, and Reece Topley also played a significant role in England’s victory by taking three wickets for 41 runs. Buttler’s innings, which included three sixes and eight fours, was instrumental in setting up a target of 184 for Pakistan. Although England’s batting took a hit with five quick wickets, Pakistan struggled to capitalize on the opportunity, with Shaheen Shah Afridi standing out as the pick of the bowlers, taking 3-36.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam acknowledged the efforts of his team, stating that they restricted England to a par score and had their moments during the chase. However, the lack of substantial partnerships hindered Pakistan’s progress, as Fakhar Zaman’s 45 off 21 balls went in vain. England’s bowling attack, led by Archer, Topley, and Chris Jordan, proved too strong for Pakistan’s tail-enders, securing a win for the hosts.

The victory at Edgbaston saw England take a 1-0 lead in the four-match T20 series, following a washout in the first match. Buttler’s heroics with the bat and the impressive bowling performances by Archer and the rest of the team set the tone for England’s dominance in the series. With valuable contributions from Will Jacks, Jonny Bairstow, and the bowling unit, England showcased their depth and resilience, ensuring a comprehensive victory over Pakistan.

In the end, England posted a total of 183-7 in 20 overs, with Pakistan falling short at 160 all out in 19.2 overs. Despite Fakhar Zaman’s explosive innings, the lack of partnerships and consistency in Pakistan’s batting lineup cost them the game. The series promises to be an exciting contest between two top cricketing nations, with both teams looking to fine-tune their strategies and performances ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup. England’s strong start in the series has put them in a favorable position, and they will be eager to maintain their winning momentum in the remaining matches.
