The Chairman of the Shura Council’s Internal and External Affairs Committee, H E Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, emphasized the importance of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s foreign tours in elevating Qatar’s external relations based on common interests. He stated that the Amir’s visits to Italy and Germany reflect a keenness to boost stability, peace, and development regionally and globally. Al Khater hailed these visits as a successful strategy to amplify Qatar’s global presence and roles, showcasing the insightful vision of the wise leadership.

The visits to Italy and Germany are seen as a new starting point for strengthening bilateral relations at various political and economic levels. Al Khater highlighted the significance of these two countries, being EU heavyweights politically and economically. He noted that the Amir’s visits reflect a trend of enhancing Qatar’s relations with European countries and expanding cooperation to support security and stability, not only in the Middle East but globally. Qatar aims to play a vital role as an international mediator seeking peaceful resolutions to disputes.

According to Al Khater, expanding relations and cooperation is a key pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030, which focuses on achieving sustainable development and economic well-being for current and future generations. Qatar can benefit from the experiences of advanced countries like Italy and Germany in areas such as technology, innovation, and the environment. This will enhance Qatar’s ability to achieve its development goals and contribute to economic diversification and its status as an effective economic hub in line with the QNV 2030 development strategies.

The visits are expected to boost economic, trade, and investment partnerships between Qatar and both Italy and Germany, further promoting Doha’s economic diversification trend. This will solidify Qatar’s status as a key player in the region and enhance its position as an economic hub. Additionally, the visits will have positive impacts on growing bilateral parliamentary relations, opening communication channels between the Shura Council and the parliaments of both countries. This exchange aims to boost multi-level bilateral relations and discuss pressing international issues like climate change and regional security.

Al Khater emphasized that parliamentary relations play a crucial role in building deeper understandings about common challenges and supporting Qatar’s role as a pivotal state in international dialogue. The Shura Council has extensive parliamentary relations with international bodies such as the IPU, the European Parliament, and the Mediterranean Parliament, which enhance Qatar’s position regionally and internationally. The goal is to enhance Qatar’s relations and strengthen its influence on the global stage through diplomatic paths.

In conclusion, Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s foreign tours to Italy and Germany demonstrate Qatar’s commitment to strengthening international relations based on common interests. These visits aim to boost stability, peace, and development regionally and globally while enhancing Qatar’s global presence and roles. The expansion of cooperation and partnerships with advanced countries like Italy and Germany will benefit Qatar in achieving its development goals and economic diversification. The visits also promote bilateral parliamentary relations, contributing to a deeper understanding of common challenges and supporting Qatar’s role in international dialogue.
