Amir, President of Greece, discusses the latest developments in Gaza

The Amir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, recently held a meeting with Her Excellency Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the President of Greece, in Athens. The meeting was characterized by a warm welcome from the Greek President, who acknowledged the positive development in the relations between the two countries. She expressed her hope that the visit of the Amir would further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

In response, the Amir expressed his gratitude for the hospitality shown by the Greek President and reiterated his commitment to enhancing the friendly relations between Qatar and Greece. The two countries have enjoyed a strong relationship for over 50 years, and the Amir emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation for the mutual benefit of their peoples. The meeting focused on reviewing the existing friendship and cooperation between Qatar and Greece, particularly in the areas of economy, investment, and current developments in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials from both countries, including ministers and members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir. From the Qatari side, officials such as Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi were present, while Greece was represented by officials like Giorgos Gerapetritis and Dr. Lina Mendoni. The presence of these officials highlights the importance and significance of the meeting between the two leaders.

An official reception ceremony was held for the Amir upon his arrival at the presidential palace, underscoring the importance of the visit and the strong ties between Qatar and Greece. The meeting between the Amir and the Greek President signifies a continued effort to strengthen and develop the relationship between the two countries, with a focus on enhancing cooperation in various areas for the benefit of both nations. The meeting sets a positive tone for future collaborations and partnerships between Qatar and Greece.
