AlUqair Beach in the Eastern Province is set to host Ramliyah, Saudi Arabia’s inaugural family-focused beach sports festival, from November 25 to 29. The five-day event will transform the historic coastal area into a vibrant hub of sport, wellness, and family entertainment. Ramliyah will feature a range of activities, including beach tournaments, interactive games, and wellness sessions.

The festival, held under the patronage of Governor of Al-Ahsa Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, aims to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among Saudi citizens, aligning with Vision 2030’s goals. The event is expected to attract thousands of visitors to AlUqair Beach, with admission being free and significant cash prizes of over SR200,000 up for grabs in various tournaments.

Ramliyah Beach Sports Festival Activities

The Ramliyah festival will feature thrilling male and female beach tournaments in soccer, volleyball, and handball, organized by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF). Local sports groups and teams will compete for cash prizes and medals in these events. According to the organizers, the competitions are designed to promote teamwork, fitness, and sportsmanship among participants.

Beyond the competitive sports, the festival grounds will include a large Fan Zone with interactive beach games, a Wellness Zone offering yoga and fitness classes, and a curated food and beverage area serving diverse cuisine. Visitors will have the opportunity to try out various beach sports through taster sessions organized by Saudi sports federations.

Sports For All Active Program

A key highlight of the festival is the Sports For All’s (SFA) Active Program for those under 18, a dynamic initiative promoting teamwork, fitness, and fun through sport. Shaima Al-Husseini, Managing Director of the SFA, emphasized the program’s significance, stating that it aims to inspire every individual in Saudi Arabia to embrace an active lifestyle. The program is expected to be a major draw for families attending the festival.

Ramliyah Partnerships and Sponsorship

Ramliyah is being delivered in partnership with several key organizations, including the Ministry of Sport, Al-Ahsa Development Authority, and Al-Ahsa Municipality. The event has also secured sponsorship from prominent brands such as ASICS and Tawuniya Insurance, which are supporting the Active Program. The partnerships are expected to enhance the overall festival experience and provide additional resources for participants.

The festival is open daily from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., and free shuttle buses will be available from Al-Khobar and Al-Hofuf. Registration for attendance and tournament participation is mandatory, and can be done through the provided registration link. As the event approaches, organizers are finalizing preparations to ensure a successful and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

With its diverse range of activities and commitment to promoting an active lifestyle, Ramliyah is poised to become a significant event in Saudi Arabia’s sports calendar. As the festival dates approach, expectations are high for a successful event that will leave a lasting impact on the local community.
