The much-awaited Trophée des Champions Visit Qatar is set to kick off next week with a thrilling match between AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the 974 Stadium in Doha, Qatar. The Trophée des Champions, also known as the French Super Cup, is an annual football showdown featuring the Ligue 1 McDonald’s champion and the Coupe de France winner. If one club secures both titles, the Ligue 1 McDonald’s runner-up steps in to compete. This match marks the start of the French football season, showcasing the best talent and competition in the league.

The current edition of Trophée des Champions will feature PSG, the Ligue 1 McDonald’s champions, against AS Monaco, the Ligue 1 McDonald’s runners-up. Both teams have a strong fan following and bring incredible talent to the field, promising an electrifying encounter. Tickets for the match are available on the official website, Road to Qatar, starting at QAR 30. Fans are encouraged to purchase early to secure their seats for this prestigious event. The match will take place on January 5, 2025 at Stadium 974 in Doha, Qatar, which is one of the most unique stadiums in the world.

Stadium 974 is the world’s first fully demountable stadium, opened on November 30, 2021 during the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021. With a capacity of 44,000, it has already hosted six matches during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The stadium is fully accessible, offering disabled fans a number of accessible seats. Constructed using 974 standard certified shipping containers and modular steel elements, the stadium pays tribute to Qatar’s international call code. Before the match, fans can enjoy an engaging experience at the dedicated fan zone, featuring entertainment, food stalls, and activities for all ages.

Qatar’s decision to host the Trophée des Champions is in line with its efforts to establish itself as a global sports capital, following the success of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and other major sporting events. The country has been hosting prestigious football tournaments since 2019, including the FIFA U20 World Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. The upcoming tournaments like the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 and the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 showcase Qatar’s commitment to sports tourism and its ability to host world-class events.

Qatar offers a unique tourist experience, blending modern elegance with rich cultural heritage. Visitors can explore cultural landmarks like the Museum of Islamic Art and Souq Waqif, enjoy recreational activities such as desert excursions and Dhow cruises, and immerse themselves in vibrant city life with fine dining and art galleries. The Visit Qatar Events Calendar highlights the exciting events happening throughout the year. Matchdays in Qatar are not just about the games, but also about the adventures fans can have throughout the city. With seamless transportation options like the Doha Metro and taxis, fans can easily navigate the city and fully immerse themselves in the matchday experience.
