Residents of Muharraq are becoming increasingly concerned about the large number of businesses operating illegally 24/7 in the area. Despite a high approval rate for 24-hour operation licenses, with 97% of applications being accepted, 52 out of 81 establishments are operating without proper licenses. This situation poses risks to public safety and regulatory compliance, as these businesses include restaurants, convenience stores, cafés, a laundry, and a vape shop.

A meeting held by the Muharraq Municipal Council, attended by representatives from the Muharraq Police Directorate, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and the municipal executive body, discussed the prevalence of unlicensed operations in the area. Data from the police directorate reveals that only 26 out of the 81 shops open 24/7 are properly licensed, raising concerns about the enforcement of licensing regulations. The council emphasized the need to simplify the licensing process for businesses looking to operate continuously and identify the authorities responsible for enforcing compliance and taking legal action against violators.

Interestingly, despite the high approval rate for 24-hour operation licenses, questions have been raised about the enforcement of licensing regulations in Muharraq. While the police directorate approved 97% of applications, concerns remain about the lack of compliance among businesses operating illegally. Businesses seeking round-the-clock operation licenses must implement measures to minimize disturbances, ensure public tranquility, provide adequate parking and traffic flow, and install security cameras inside and outside their premises. The nature of the street and the type of business also play crucial roles in the assessment process.

The meeting also highlighted the need for proper enforcement of licensing regulations to ensure public safety and regulatory compliance. Authorities discussed the importance of identifying the responsible bodies for enforcing compliance and taking legal action against violators. The licensing process for businesses looking to operate continuously should be simplified to streamline the approval process and ensure that only properly licensed establishments can operate 24/7 in Muharraq. By addressing these issues, the authorities aim to improve public safety and regulatory compliance in the area.

Overall, the situation of illegal businesses operating continuously in Muharraq raises concerns about public safety and regulatory compliance. Despite a high approval rate for 24-hour operation licenses, a significant number of establishments are operating without proper licenses. The authorities are working to simplify the licensing process for businesses seeking continuous operation and strengthen enforcement measures to ensure compliance. By addressing these issues, they aim to improve public safety, regulatory compliance, and the overall quality of life for residents in Muharraq.

Abdulaziz Al Naar, chairman of the Muharraq Municipal Council, emphasized the need for proper enforcement of licensing regulations and the identification of responsible bodies for ensuring compliance. By streamlining the licensing process and taking legal action against violators, authorities aim to address the issues of illegal operations in the area. Overall, the authorities are working to improve public safety and regulatory compliance in Muharraq by addressing the prevalence of unlicensed businesses operating continuously.
