The 2024 EGF Order of Merit Championship will be held at the Al Zorah Golf Club this weekend. The tournament marks the end of the Order of Merit season for all categories including Men’s, Ladies, and Junior Divisions. The event will be played over 54-holes for Men’s and Ladies Divisions and 36-holes for Junior Divisions, with a stroke play format from May 10th to May 12th. The championship is a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) qualifier, with double points allocated for the final qualifier for leading players.

The leading players from the season-long EGF Order of Merits will compete in the championship, with Men’s Order of Merit leader Jonathan Selvaraj, Viktor Kofod Olsen, and Oscar Craig confirmed for the event. The Men’s Division will also include players like Ahmad Skaik, Jay Mullane, Hoshi Yadav, and more. Selvaraj currently leads the Men’s Division with 3727.25 points, having played in all but two events of the 14 qualifying rounds.

In the Ladies’ Division, the top three players Faye Al Blooshi, Hannah Alan, and Aoife Kelly will compete at Al Zorah. The Ladies’ Division has seen 14 qualifiers so far this season. The EGF Order of Merit points are allocated based on the field size, with this year’s championship being included in the Order of Merits for the first time. The current leaders in the 2024 EGF Order of Merit are J. Selvaraj, A. Hess, V. Kofod-Olsen in the Men’s Division and F. Al Blooshi, H. C. Alan, A. Kelly in the Ladies’ Division.

The Al Zorah Golf Club, designed by legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus, provides a stunning backdrop for the championship. The 18-hole championship golf course is surrounded by natural mangroves and presents a challenging yet rewarding experience for players of all levels. The course offers a unique and picturesque setting for the tournament, enhancing the overall golfing experience for participants and spectators alike.

The championship will feature top players from the EGF Order of Merits, competing in an exciting and competitive environment. With qualification for the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) on the line, players will be vying for the top spots and a chance to showcase their skills on a global stage. The 2024 EGF Order of Merit Championship promises to be a thrilling event that celebrates the talent and dedication of golfers in the region, while showcasing the world-class facilities at Al Zorah Golf Club.
