The Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show in Doha has begun with 285 horses from various countries participating in the event. The show is supported by the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund and includes horses from GCC countries. The qualifying rounds have already taken place for certain categories, with more to come in the following days.

The competition includes events such as the Filly Foals, newborn colts, and Yearling Fillies, among others. There is a new round introduced this year called “The Newborns” which will also serve as a qualifier for prestigious events like the World Horse Beauty Championship and the Global Champions Tour. The championship aims to showcase the beauty and talent of Arabian horses from around the world.

Saif Al Nuaimi, Deputy Executive Director of Al Shaqab, commended the high level of participation in this year’s edition of the championship. He noted that the competition has been fierce and the prizes at stake are valuable. The event is considered to be one of the major horse shows in the region and has seen an increase in the number of participating horses this year.

Sheikh Hamad bin Ali Al Thani, owner of Mudhar Stud, expressed his happiness with the results achieved by his horses on the first day of the competition. He also praised the strong competition between owners and major studs from Qatar and the GCC countries. The owners are all vying for the top spots and medals at the championship.

In the qualifying competitions held so far, horses from various studs have performed well. Ghuyum KL from Kahil Stud won the Filly Foals (1A) category, while Rayyana Mudhar owned by Sheikh Hamad bin Ali Al Thani stood first in the Filly Foals (1B) category. Adnan Mudhar, also owned by Sheikh Hamad, won the first place in the qualifiers for colts, showcasing the talent and skill of the horses at the championship.

Overall, the Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show is a prestigious event that brings together top horses, owners, and breeders from around the world. The competition is fierce, with horses competing for valuable prizes and medals. The event serves as a platform to showcase the beauty and talent of Arabian horses and to promote the equestrian culture in the region and beyond. With the high level of participation and the strong competition, the championship promises to be an exciting and memorable event for all involved.
