The Ministry of Health recently celebrated the inauguration of Al Mazyouna Hospital in Dhofar Governorate with an investment of OMR15.4 million. The hospital aims to provide specialized healthcare services across various governorates in Oman. The inauguration ceremony was held under the patronage of His HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, along with Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, and other high-ranking officials. The project covers a built-up area of 13,649 square meters and includes clinics for general medicine, internal medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, surgery, and various other specialties. The hospital has a capacity of 50 beds for admission, along with inpatient wards and critical care units for adults and neonates.

The infrastructure of Al Mazyouna Hospital also includes an emergency and accident unit, a dialysis unit, a delivery room, and an operating theater. Diagnostic services such as CT scans and conventional X-rays are provided at the radiology department. The facility also houses a medical biomedical engineering workshop, a central sterilization unit, a medical warehouse, a general store, and other supportive services. The project is part of the Ministry of Health’s efforts to upgrade the healthcare system in Oman in response to population growth and increasing demand for healthcare services nationwide.

Dr. Ali Abdullah Al Muqbali, Director General of Health Services in Dhofar, highlighted the hospital’s role in providing primary and specialized healthcare services to the local community. He emphasized the hospital’s significance in improving healthcare quality at the wilayat level. Eng. Yusuf Ya’qub Amboali, Advisor to the Minister of Health for Engineering Affairs, explained that the opening of Al Mazyouna Hospital is part of the ministry’s strategy to enhance healthcare infrastructure and provide exceptional medical services closer to communities. The project aims to deliver top-notch healthcare services according to global standards to all residents of the Sultanate of Oman.

The inauguration ceremony concluded with a tour of the hospital by the event’s patron and attendees. The modern specifications of Al Mazyouna Hospital were designed in accordance with advanced global standards to provide a comprehensive and comfortable healthcare environment for patients. The initiative reflects the Ministry of Health’s commitment to improving the healthcare system in Oman and ensuring that citizens have access to high-quality medical services. Al Mazyouna Hospital aims to meet the evolving demands for healthcare services and contribute to the overall well-being of the population in the region.
