In a thrilling display of late-match excellence, Al Khor secured a spot in the QSL Cup quarter-finals by defeating Al Gharafa with a commanding 3-0 victory at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium. Captain Ahmed Al Mohanadi shone by scoring two goals, while Abdulrahman Juma contributed the opening goal in the 84th minute. Al Mohanadi’s first goal was a skillful chip into the far corner, followed by a tap-in in the 90+5 minutes. The win propelled Al Khor to four points in the tournament, joining Al Wakrah, Umm Salal, and Al Shamal from Group B to advance to the last-eight stage.

Reflecting on the victory, Al Mohanadi expressed his team’s deserving win after a long time without a victory, emphasizing their consistent improvement. He also highlighted their next goals of performing well in the QSL Cup and securing their first win in the Qatar Stars League. On the other hand, Al Gharafa’s Yousuf Saeed lamented missed opportunities and defensive errors that contributed to their defeat, acknowledging the goals came from their team’s mistakes.

In another matchup, Group B leaders Al Wakrah were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Shamal at Al Khor Stadium. Farid Boulaya opened the scoring for Al Wakrah in the 69th minute, with Mohamed Omar equalizing for Al Shamal in the 84th minute. Al Wakrah finished on top of the group with 10 points, followed by Umm Salal and Al Shamal, each with six points, advancing to the quarter-finals along with Al Duhail, Al Arabi, Al Rayyan, and Al Ahli from Group A.

With the quarter-finals lineup confirmed, exciting matchups await the fans, with Al Duhail set to face Al Khor at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium, Al Wakrah taking on Al Ahli at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, Al Arabi meeting Al Shamal at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium, and Umm Salal going head-to-head against Al Rayyan at Grand Hamad Stadium. The schedule for these matches will be decided soon, promising intense competition and fierce battles as the teams vie for a spot in the semi-finals.
