Al Duhail secures an easy victory in Austria as Qatari teams prepare for the upcoming season

As the new Ooredoo Stars League season draws near, Qatari clubs are intensifying their preparation for the upcoming matches. Among them, Al Duhail and Al Sadd have already demonstrated their readiness with impressive victories in friendlies. Al Duhail defeated Hungary’s Csikszereda 3-1 in a friendly match in Austria, while Al Sadd demolished Manchester 62 from Gibraltar with an 8-0 win in Spain.

Al Duhail, known as the Red Knights, has a busy schedule ahead as they gear up for the new season. They have four more friendly matches lined up, including games against Austria’s Sturm Graz, UAE’s Ittihad Kalba, Saudi Arabia’s Al Khaleej, and Saudi Damac. These matches will serve as crucial preparation for Al Duhail, who will face Qatar SC in the opening round of the Ooredoo Stars League on August 19 at the Khalifa International Stadium.

On the other hand, Al Sadd, the reigning Qatar Stars League champions, started their pre-season camp in Malaga with a dominant display against Manchester 62. Gonzalo Plata scored a hat-trick, Rafa Mujica netted a brace, and other players also contributed to the team’s massive 8-0 victory. Al Sadd’s preparations are in full swing as they aim to defend their league title in the upcoming season.

In addition to Al Duhail and Al Sadd, other Qatari clubs are also busy with their pre-season training camps. Al Ahli is set to play three friendly matches in the Netherlands, facing Eindhoven U23 squad, UAE’s Al Wasl, and Belgian club Lommel Sportkring. After completing their training in Eindhoven, Al Ahli will return to Doha to kick off their Ooredoo Stars League campaign against Al Wakrah on August 11 at the Al Janoub Stadium.

Al Shamal SC, who is also training in the Netherlands, announced the appointment of Portuguese coach Nuno Almeida. Almeida, a former assistant coach at Al Sadd, takes over the reins from Swedish coach Poya Asbaghi, who moved to Al Rayyan. With new coaching staff and rigorous training programs, the Qatari clubs are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for success in the upcoming season.

Overall, the Qatari clubs are focused on fine-tuning their strategies and improving their performances ahead of the new Ooredoo Stars League season. With competitive friendlies and intense training camps in Europe, Al Duhail, Al Sadd, Al Ahli, and Al Shamal SC are all working hard to ensure they are well-prepared for the challenges that lie ahead. Football fans can expect an exciting season as these clubs battle it out on the field for glory and victory.
