The Qatar Freestyle Championship for the 2024/2025 season kicked off in a thrilling fashion at the Qatar Racing Club’s designated freestyle arena. The event drew a large crowd of spectators as competitors showcased their skills on the track. The championship, held under the patronage of QRC Chairman H E Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani, saw participants meet specific standards and requirements to join the event. These included vehicle modifications and safety measures such as installing a roll cage, securing the battery, and wearing proper safety gear like a helmet and seat belt.

Registration and technical inspection were initially scheduled for Thursday, but were extended to Friday to accommodate all participants. After registration, a briefing was held to clarify technical and logistical details before the race began. Each competitor had one opportunity to hit the track and perform five maneuvers within a total time limit of four minutes. Points were awarded based on the speed and style of the maneuvers, with the faster and more stylish participants earning more points. The competition featured exciting action as competitors pushed their limits to secure the top spots on the podium.

The championship concluded after over four hours of intense competition, with Rashed Al Banna claiming the first-place spot. Mohammed Al Muhanadi secured second place, while Abdullah Al Qahtani took home the third-place trophy. Competitors Saud Al Marri and Saud Al Kuwari finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively. QRC Head of Marshals Khalifa Al Khayarin handed out the trophies to the podium winners, marking the end of the first round of the championship. Preparations are now underway for the second round scheduled for December 12 and 13, where competitors will have another chance to showcase their freestyle driving skills.

The Qatar Freestyle Championship provides a platform for local driving enthusiasts to demonstrate their talents in a competitive environment. Under the patronage of QRC Chairman H E Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani, the event offers participants the opportunity to challenge themselves and test their skills on the track. With specific requirements in place for vehicle modifications and safety measures, competitors are able to focus on delivering high-speed and stylish maneuvers to impress the judging committee and secure top scores. The championship aims to promote safe driving practices while showcasing the talents of local drivers in the freestyle arena.

The competition saw participants go head-to-head in a series of intense maneuvers, including drifting, reverse drift, the “knot” move, and a reverse move. Each competitor had the chance to showcase their skills and earn points based on the speed and style of their performance. With only one opportunity to impress the judges, competitors had to give it their all to stand out from the competition and secure a podium finish. The championship provided an exciting platform for driving enthusiasts to come together and celebrate their passion for freestyle driving while competing for top honors and recognition.

The QRC Director Sheikh Jabor bin Khalid Al Thani and the organizing committee played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the event by setting specific standards and requirements for participants. By extending the registration deadline to accommodate all participants, the organizers demonstrated their commitment to providing a fair and inclusive competition for all driving enthusiasts. With safety measures and technical details clarified during the briefing session, competitors were able to focus on delivering their best performance on the track. The support from the QRC Head of Marshals Khalifa Al Khayarin and other officials further emphasized the importance of following safety protocols and promoting responsible driving practices during the championship.
