Qatar’s Nasser Al Attiyah is making a strong push to secure his third FIA World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) title as he finished fourth in the penultimate stage of the 2024 Rallye du Maroc while maintaining his overall lead. Alongside French co-driver Edouard Boulanger, representing Dacia Sandriders, Al Attiyah extended his lead to 9:12 over his nearest rival Guillaume de Mevius of the X-raid Mini JCW team. The stage victory went to Ford’s Carlos Sainz, with Saudi driver Yazeed Al Rajhi of Toyota Overdrive taking second place, and Guerlain Chicherit of the X-raid Mini JCW team finishing third.

Al Attiyah, the current FIA W2RC leader, is poised to claim his seventh Rallye du Maroc victory. Reflecting on the stage, he expressed satisfaction with their performance and the new vehicle. With a 32-point lead over Al Rajhi heading into the final day of the season, Al Attiyah is in a strong position to clinch his third W2RC title. However, Al Rajhi could still take the championship if he wins the final stage and Al Attiyah finishes outside the top five. The overall Rallye du Maroc winner will earn 30 points, with an additional five points going to the stage winner and points allocated to the top five W2RC competitors.

In the Challenger category, Qatar’s Khalifa Al Attiyah and navigator Enio Bozzano finished fourth in the recent stage, while Abdulaziz Al Kuwari and Nasser Saadoon Al Kuwari placed 11th. Ahmed Al Kuwari secured the 14th position. As the Rallye du Maroc nears its conclusion, all eyes are on Nasser Al Attiyah and his pursuit of another championship title. With his experience and skill, Al Attiyah remains determined to maintain his lead and secure victory in the final stage of the competition.

The performance of Al Attiyah and his co-driver Boulanger has been impressive, with the duo showcasing their strategic driving skills and control throughout the race. Al Attiyah’s experience as a seasoned rally driver has played a crucial role in their success, allowing them to navigate challenging terrains and competitors with finesse. The partnership between Al Attiyah and Boulanger has proven to be a winning combination, as they continue to dominate the Rallye du Maroc with a brand-new car.

As the final day of the season approaches, the focus is on Al Attiyah and Al Rajhi, the two contenders vying for the W2RC title. While Al Attiyah holds a significant lead, Al Rajhi remains a formidable opponent capable of seizing the championship with a strong finish in the last stage. The competition is intense, with both drivers showcasing their skills and determination to emerge victorious in the Rallye du Maroc.

The Challenger category also offers exciting battles among the participants, with Khalifa Al Attiyah leading the charge with a fourth-place finish in the recent stage. As the Rallye du Maroc enters its final stages, the competition heats up, with every participant pushing their limits to secure a top position. The event continues to captivate rally fans worldwide, with thrilling performances and fierce competition on display. With Al Attiyah leading the charge towards another championship title, the excitement and anticipation continue to build as the Rallye du Maroc reaches its thrilling conclusion.
