Qatar’s Al Arabi will be facing Saudi team Al Ettifaq FC in Group B of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation’s Gulf Club Champions League, as revealed in the draw held in Doha. The tournament will feature eight prominent clubs from the region and will kick off on October 23, running until April 15, 2025. In addition to Al Arabi and Al Ettifaq, Group B also includes Bahrain’s Al Riffa SC and Kuwait’s Qadsia SC.

Group A, on the other hand, will see Iraq’s Duhok SC, Al Nasr from the UAE, Oman’s Dhofar SC, and Al Ahli Sanaa from Yemen competing against each other. The first stage will consist of each team playing six home and away matches, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals, which will also be played on a home and away basis. The AGCFF has announced significant prize money for the competition, with $3 million going to the winners and $1 million to the runners-up.

Individual awards will also be given out, with $50,000 each set aside for the best player, best goalkeeper, and top scorer of the tournament. AGCFF Secretary General Jassim Al Rumaihi expressed his optimism for a high-quality competition, stating that the participating teams have notable names and strong histories. He thanked all the clubs for their participation in the tournament and hoped for a high level of competition throughout the event.

The draw for the tournament group stage took place at Doha’s Kempinski Hotel, setting the stage for an exciting competition among some of the best clubs in the region. With lucrative prize money up for grabs, the clubs will be giving their all to secure victory and claim the prestigious title of Gulf Club Champions League winners.

As the tournament unfolds, fans can expect to see intense battles on the field as the teams vie for a spot in the semi-finals and a shot at the ultimate prize. With a mix of experienced veterans and rising talents, the Gulf Club Champions League promises to showcase the best of Arab Gulf football and provide an exciting platform for the region’s top clubs to compete against each other.
