The AJP Tour Dubai International Jiu-Jitsu Championship is a highly anticipated event set to take place at Shabab Al Ahli in Dubai starting on Friday, organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation. Over the course of three days, the championship will see around 1,400 male and female competitors from different clubs and academies around the world. The competition will kick off with competitions for kids on the first day, followed by youth and masters on the second day, and amateurs and professionals on the final day.

One of the key features of this championship is the high-ranking points awarded to winners, with 600 points going to the first-place winner in each category. This enhances their chances of participating in the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship and qualifying for the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Awards at the end of the season. The event draws elite athletes from various regions and is renowned for its organization and professionalism, attracting top talent from the global jiu-jitsu community.

According to Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, the AJP Tour Dubai International Jiu-Jitsu Championship is a significant event that garners both local and international attention. It serves as a crucial milestone for all athletes and provides a platform to showcase their skills on a global stage. The focus on kids and youth within the championship aligns with the Federation’s plans to nurture and support young talent, shaping them into future champions capable of competing at an international level.

Tariq Al-Bahri, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro, highlighted the importance of the championship in developing the sport of jiu-jitsu and expanding its reach globally. He emphasized Abu Dhabi’s reputation as the world jiu-jitsu capital and a hub for major jiu-jitsu events, attracting champions from all corners of the world. Coaches like Igor Silva from Commando Group Academy are optimistic about their team’s performance at the event and commend the UAEJJF and AJP for organizing world-class championships that contribute to the growth of jiu-jitsu.

Competitors like Ali Monfaradi from Elements Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Bahrain are eagerly anticipating the championship and are confident in their abilities to perform well. Monfaradi, who will compete in the under-77kg category in both professional and masters divisions, aims to build on last year’s success by securing more medals. The AJP Tour Dubai International Jiu-Jitsu Championship serves as a platform for athletes to showcase their talents, gain recognition, and contribute to the growth of the sport both locally and internationally.
