The Ministry of Education in Muscat recently organized a two-day educational meeting for senior supervisors of various academic subjects. The annual meeting, patronized by Saif Al-Julandani, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, aimed to provide professional support to supervisory categories, including senior supervisors, and help them keep pace with the rapid developments in the field of education. With over 240 participants from supervisors across the Ministry’s General Diwan and educational directorates in the governorates, the meeting focused on activating the methodology of educational supervision teams and achieving the objectives of the Directorate’s five-year plan.

The first day of the program featured a training session led by an expert from the Queen Rania Training Academy, focusing on support methodologies in supervisory practices. The session aimed to define the concepts of supervisory practices, educational support, and provide a model for each practice based on the nature of the teacher, context, and previous knowledge. The second day included specialized meetings for each subject with senior supervisors in the educational directorates, alongside specialists from curricula, evaluation, and training. Discussions addressed aspects related to supervision, reviewed the latest developments in evaluation and curricula, and worked on finding practical solutions to any identified issues.

During the meeting, a set of training working papers were presented, offering valuable insights and strategies for senior supervisors. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, engaged in a discussion session with participants. The dialogue aimed to exchange observations, provide guidance, and offer visions that could help senior supervisors in developing technical work within the educational directorates in the governorates. The overall goal was to enhance the capabilities and skills of senior supervisors in building supervisory work plans, measuring their impact, and improving the work environment for better performance.

The meeting provided a platform for senior supervisors to exchange experiences, skills, and development ideas to enhance their roles and job responsibilities. By fostering a spirit of teamwork and collaboration, the participants were able to collectively work towards improving supervisory performance. The annual educational meeting underscored the Ministry of Education’s commitment to supporting professional growth and development within the educational sector, ensuring that supervisors are equipped with the necessary tools and resources to navigate the evolving landscape of education. Through discussions, training sessions, and specialized meetings, senior supervisors were able to enhance their supervisory skills and contribute to the overall improvement of the education system in Muscat.
