Oman’s commitment to citizen-centric governance is powerfully demonstrated by the success of “Tajawob,” the National Platform for Suggestions, Complaints, and Reports. Since its inception, Tajawob has become a vital channel for public engagement, with cumulative indicators revealing significant growth in usage and impact. By January 2026, the platform had surpassed 1.7 million visits and boasted over 629,000 active users, showcasing its increasing relevance in the daily lives of Omanis. This digital initiative is transforming how the government interacts with its citizens and addresses their needs.

Tajawob: A Growing Platform for Public Voice

The numbers speak volumes. Tajawob has processed a total of 156,000 requests, broken down into over 63,000 complaints, approximately 53,000 reports, more than 12,000 suggestions, and over 27,000 inquiries. This substantial volume highlights the platform’s effectiveness in capturing a wide range of public concerns and ideas. The platform’s success isn’t just about numbers; it’s about fostering a more responsive and accountable government.

Expanding Access Through Mobile Technology

Recognizing the importance of accessibility, the creators of Tajawob launched a dedicated mobile application in September 2025. This move proved incredibly successful, with the app achieving a 4.4 out of 5 rating and exceeding 40,000 downloads. The mobile app has significantly broadened the reach of the platform, allowing citizens to easily submit feedback and track the progress of their requests from their smartphones. This focus on digital transformation is key to modernizing public services in Oman.

Strengthening Government Performance and Communication

Tajawob operates as a unified national digital channel, designed to enhance the quality of government performance and strengthen communication between institutions and the public. The platform’s unified operational system empowers 54 government institutions to systematically address incoming requests, turning them into actionable insights for improvement. This streamlined approach ensures that feedback isn’t lost in bureaucracy but is instead used to drive positive change.

Real-World Impact: Success Stories from Tajawob

The impact of Tajawob extends far beyond simply collecting data. Numerous improvements and development initiatives across various sectors have been directly influenced by suggestions and complaints submitted through the platform. These successes are now prominently featured in a dedicated “Success Stories” section on the Tajawob website, demonstrating the government’s commitment to listening to and acting on citizen feedback.

For example, the Ministry of Education responded to concerns raised on Tajawob by adding student absence notifications to the parent application and issuing a comprehensive health guide for the school environment. Muscat Municipality addressed traffic congestion at the Al Hail Street exit near Al Bahja Center in Seeb, based on user suggestions. The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) launched an instant electronic verification service for survey permits, enhancing transparency and data accessibility.

Additionally, the Ministry of Information introduced age-appropriate content classification on the “Ain” platform, a direct result of a suggestion submitted through Tajawob. The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology launched the Oman Maritime Portal, streamlining maritime and port services. Even improvements to border crossing infrastructure, like the Sa’ara border crossing in Al Buraimi Governorate, were implemented based on feedback received through the platform. The Royal Oman Police also launched a service for updating mobile phone numbers on their app, improving access to essential services.

Future Enhancements and Continued Commitment

The team behind citizen engagement platform Tajawob isn’t resting on its laurels. Plans are underway to launch a series of updates and new features designed to further enhance accessibility and efficiency. A key addition will be a voice recording feature, catering to a wider range of users and making the platform more inclusive. Furthermore, the ability to reclassify requests will streamline workflows for government institutions, leading to faster processing times and more effective responses.

These ongoing efforts underscore the platform’s dedication to continuous improvement and its commitment to strengthening the relationship between the government and its citizens. Tajawob is more than just a platform for submitting complaints; it’s a powerful tool for public sector innovation and a testament to Oman’s vision for a more responsive and citizen-centric government.

Explore the Tajawob platform today and contribute your voice to shaping a better future for Oman. Visit the website to learn more about the success stories and submit your own suggestions, complaints, or reports. Your feedback matters!
