The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) in Muscat solidified its commitment to Oman’s future by holding its first Board of Trustees meeting of 2026. Chaired by Sayyid Khalid Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, the meeting focused on building upon the institution’s successes and charting a course for continued growth in leadership development and national progress. This gathering underscores the nation’s dedication to investing in its human capital and preparing for a rapidly evolving global landscape.

RAM’s 2025 Performance and Strategic Direction

The Board of Trustees commenced by thoroughly reviewing RAM’s performance throughout 2025. Significant progress was noted across all key areas, demonstrating a measurable impact on Oman’s leadership and administrative capabilities. This positive assessment paved the way for the approval of the Annual Plan for 2026, a roadmap designed to further enhance these crucial skills.

Key Priorities for 2026

Several key priorities will guide RAM’s efforts in 2026. These include the ambitious Oman Global Economic Integration Initiative, a comprehensive future readiness framework, and the strategic integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into its programs and operational processes. These initiatives are directly aligned with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s Royal Vision, which prioritizes investment in Oman’s people as the cornerstone of national development.

Sayyid Al Busaidi lauded RAM’s achievements, emphasizing the demonstrable results and contributions to a strategic shift within Oman. He highlighted the importance of continuing to cultivate national leadership and incorporate modern knowledge, facilitated through strong partnerships with both local and international institutions. This collaborative approach is vital for ensuring the relevance and effectiveness of RAM’s programs.

Expanding Reach and Strengthening Regional Ties

RAM’s impact on leadership development is expanding, as evidenced by its growing alumni network, which now exceeds 2,258 individuals. The launch of the RAM Alumni Platform is a particularly noteworthy achievement, fostering a vibrant professional network for knowledge exchange, sustained learning, and the integration of alumni insights into ongoing initiatives. This platform serves as a powerful resource for leaders across various sectors.

Furthermore, the Board recognized RAM’s role in strengthening regional cooperation within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The successful inaugural edition of the “Future of Work in Government Programme” engaged 65 senior leaders from GCC member states and the GCC Secretariat General. Building on this momentum, RAM will launch a second edition of the program, focusing on future readiness, further solidifying its position as a regional hub for leadership excellence.

Focus on Future Readiness and Economic Integration

The Oman Global Economic Integration Initiative remains a central focus for RAM. The initiative aims to bolster Oman’s economic presence on the world stage by supporting trade expansion and fostering structured engagement with international organizations. This will be achieved through close collaboration with relevant government entities, as well as the public and private sectors, ensuring a unified and strategic approach.

Recognizing the need to proactively prepare for future challenges and opportunities, RAM has developed a comprehensive Future Readiness Framework. This framework includes a national methodology for measuring future readiness, created in partnership with leading economic experts from both Oman and abroad. The goal is to provide data-driven insights to support informed decision-making and enhance institutional preparedness for long-term transformation.

Integrating AI for Enhanced Performance

RAM is also committed to integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its programs and across its value chain. This isn’t simply about adopting new technology; it’s about recognizing AI as a strategic leadership capability. By leveraging AI, RAM aims to improve efficiency, enhance learning outcomes, and align its offerings with global best practices in executive education.

Looking Ahead: RAM’s 2026 Annual Plan

The Board of Trustees’ approval of RAM’s Annual Plan for 2026 signifies a clear commitment to continued progress. The plan outlines a coordinated portfolio of programs, initiatives, and studies, all designed to be delivered through innovative approaches and in collaboration with leading international institutions. This strategic plan will ensure that RAM remains at the forefront of leadership development in Oman and the wider region.

RAM’s achievements in 2025 serve as a powerful testament to its dedication to enhancing leadership capacity across all sectors of Omani society. With a strong foundation and a clear vision for the future, the Royal Academy of Management is poised to play an increasingly vital role in shaping Oman’s continued success.
