Doha, Qatar – MES Indian School recently hosted a successful Admin Fun Day on December 27, 2025, at Al Kaaban Park and Al Ghariya Beach. The event, designed to boost morale and strengthen bonds among administrative staff, featured a variety of recreational activities. This initiative highlights a growing trend in corporate wellness programs within Qatar’s education sector.

Approximately 75 staff members participated in the day-long event, which included team-building exercises and informal social interaction. The school administration organized the event as a means of acknowledging the dedication of its non-teaching staff and fostering a more positive work environment. The location choice provided a relaxed atmosphere away from the school campus.

The Importance of Staff Wellbeing and Admin Fun Day Activities

The concept of dedicated staff wellbeing days is gaining traction globally, and increasingly within Qatar. According to research from the Society for Human Resource Management, employee engagement is directly linked to productivity and retention. MES Indian School’s Admin Fun Day reflects this understanding, prioritizing the mental and emotional health of its administrative personnel.

Games and Team Building

The activities were carefully selected to encourage collaboration and lighthearted competition. Participants engaged in games such as “grouping the numbers,” a race requiring synchronized movement, musical chairs, and a balloon race. Other activities included “blow and burst,” “bombing the city,” and a round of dumb charades. A “live kitchen” component allowed for informal culinary collaboration.

Participation was reportedly enthusiastic, with staff members actively engaging in each activity. The event provided a break from the usual routines and responsibilities associated with school administration. The atmosphere was described as energetic and filled with laughter, fostering a sense of camaraderie.

Recognition and Gift Exchange

Winners of the various games and competitions were presented with tokens of appreciation, acknowledging their participation and team spirit. Additionally, a gift exchange segment was incorporated into the schedule, further enhancing the sense of community and shared joy among the staff. This element of reciprocal giving contributed to a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

However, the benefits of such events extend beyond immediate enjoyment. Experts in organizational psychology suggest that these types of activities can improve communication, reduce stress, and build stronger working relationships. These improvements can translate into a more efficient and supportive work environment.

Looking Ahead: Continued Investment in Employee Engagement

The successful execution of the Admin Fun Day suggests that MES Indian School will likely continue to invest in similar employee engagement initiatives. The school administration has not yet announced specific plans for future events, but a spokesperson indicated that they are exploring options for ongoing staff development and wellbeing programs.

Meanwhile, other schools in Qatar are also evaluating strategies to improve staff morale and create a more positive work culture. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has recently emphasized the importance of supporting all school personnel, recognizing their crucial role in student success. The long-term impact of these initiatives on teacher retention and overall educational quality remains to be seen, but the trend indicates a growing awareness of the importance of employee wellbeing in the education sector.

It is anticipated that the school will gather feedback from participants to refine future events and ensure they continue to meet the needs of the administrative staff. The effectiveness of these programs will be monitored through employee surveys and performance metrics over the coming months.
