Doha, Qatar – Online registration is now open for the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) 2026, set to take place January 19-22 at the Qatar National Convention Centre. This ninth edition of the prominent defense event anticipates over 200 international and national companies and a record number of official delegations. The streamlined registration process, developed in collaboration with the Qatar Ministry of Interior, aims to improve efficiency and ease access for all attendees.

DIMDEX 2026 will showcase the latest in maritime security technology and foster partnerships within the defense industry. The event is expected to draw thousands of visitors and participants, contributing to Qatar’s economic growth and reinforcing its position as a key player in regional security. Registration is available through a dedicated link on the official DIMDEX website, www.dimdex.com.

Streamlined Registration for DIMDEX 2026

A key improvement for DIMDEX 2026 is the integration of the visa application process. International participants requiring visas will now have their Hayya visa applications processed directly through the new registration system, eliminating the need for a separate application via the Hayya platform (hayya.qa). This aims to significantly reduce administrative burdens and expedite entry for international guests.

Enhanced Visitor Experience

The new system, according to the organizing committee, is designed to offer a more user-friendly experience. It provides a centralized platform for registration, accreditation, and visa processing, reducing potential confusion and delays. This focus on visitor convenience reflects a broader effort to enhance the overall quality of the event.

Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al-Ansari, Chairman of the Organising Committee, stated that the partnership with the Ministry of Interior demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement. He anticipates the largest DIMDEX edition to date, with increased participation from companies and high-level delegations. The Middle East Naval Commanders Conference, a key component of DIMDEX, is also expected to see record attendance.

DIMDEX has evolved since its inception in 2008, becoming a crucial platform for showcasing naval defense technologies. The event historically features live demonstrations, vessel tours, and a comprehensive conference program addressing critical maritime security challenges. This year’s focus is expected to include advancements in unmanned systems, cybersecurity, and naval logistics, reflecting current trends in the defense sector.

The exhibition aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030, a comprehensive plan for the country’s long-term development. By attracting foreign investment and promoting local economic diversification, DIMDEX contributes to the vision’s goals of sustainable growth and a knowledge-based economy. The event also supports the development of Qatar’s domestic defense industry, fostering innovation and technological advancement.

The Qatari government views the defense sector as a strategic area for investment and development. This is evidenced by ongoing efforts to modernize the country’s armed forces and enhance its maritime security capabilities. The Ministry of Interior’s collaboration on the registration process underscores the importance placed on facilitating international participation in events like DIMDEX.

Looking ahead, organizers will continue to refine the event logistics based on participant feedback. The deadline for early bird registration is expected to be announced in the coming months, and further details regarding the conference agenda and featured exhibitors will be released progressively. The geopolitical landscape and evolving security threats in the region will likely shape the discussions and showcased technologies at DIMDEX 2026, making it a key event to watch for industry professionals and policymakers alike.
