Doha, Qatar – Showjumping competitions continued at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab yesterday, marking the seventh leg of the Qatar Equestrian Tour Longines Hathab. Saud Al Hadi dominated the Amateur Tour, securing both first and second place, while Jean-François Rondoux triumphed in the Silver Tour. The event showcased a high level of equestrian skill and competition, drawing participants and spectators alike to the prestigious venue.

The second day of the competition focused on two key events: the Amateur Tour at 100cm and the Silver Tour at 130cm. These tours provide a platform for riders of varying experience levels to demonstrate their abilities in a challenging and supportive environment. The Longines Hathab series is a crucial component of Qatar’s equestrian calendar, fostering local talent and promoting the sport nationally.

Saud Al Hadi Shines in Amateur Tour Showjumping

Saud Al Hadi’s performance in the Amateur Tour was particularly noteworthy, achieving a remarkable one-two finish. Riding Doremi, he completed the course in 19.91 seconds, followed closely by his time of 20.73 seconds aboard Sisi. This demonstrates a clear aptitude for the sport and consistent performance across multiple horses.

Mariam Abdulkarim Abdul rounded out the podium, securing third place with a time of 21.62 seconds on Beyonce. The competition in the Amateur Tour was fierce, with riders vying for valuable points in the overall standings. These results contribute to the ongoing ranking within the Qatar Equestrian Tour.

Meanwhile, the Silver Tour saw Jean-François Rondoux emerge victorious with Good Flower, finishing in 55.25 seconds. This tour typically features more experienced riders and higher obstacles, demanding greater precision and athleticism from both horse and rider.

Silver Tour Results and Competition

Ismail Osama followed closely behind Rondoux, claiming second place with Kaduki in 55.85 seconds. Saad Ahmed Al Saad secured the third position with Fashion, completing the course in 55.91 seconds. The close timing between the top three riders highlights the competitive nature of the Silver Tour.

According to organizers, the Longines Hathab tour aims to support the development of Qatari equestrian athletes and promote the sport’s growth within the country. The series provides opportunities for riders to gain experience, improve their skills, and compete against both local and international talent. The event also serves as a qualifying pathway for larger international competitions.

The awards ceremony for both tours was presided over by Tournament Director Abdullah Al-Marri for the Amateur Tour and international judge Nasser Al-Hajri for the Silver Tour. Their presence underscores the importance of the event and the commitment to upholding high standards of judging and competition.

The Qatar Equestrian Tour Longines Hathab continues to be a significant event for the equestrian community in Qatar, attracting a growing number of participants and spectators with each leg. The series is known for its well-organized events and commitment to promoting fair play and sportsmanship. The focus on developing local talent is a key aspect of the tour’s long-term vision.

The next stage of the Longines Hathab tour will feature the Open and Junior classes, expected to take place later this week at Al Shaqab. Further details regarding the schedule and participants will be announced by the Qatar Equestrian Federation. The continued success of these events hinges on stable funding and ongoing community support for equestrian sports.
