Sharjah Collection has solidified its position as a leader in sustainable tourism with eight prestigious titles at the 2025 World Luxury Awards. The awards recognize the company’s properties, including Kingfisher Retreat, Al Badayer Retreat, Al Faya Retreat, and Wishi Restaurant at Najd Al Meqsar, for their eco-luxury, cultural authenticity, and meaningful travel experiences.

The recognition reflects Sharjah Collection’s commitment to integrating nature, culture, and innovation in its guest experiences, according to Ahmed Ben Zaied, General Manager of Sharjah Collection. The company’s properties offer unique experiences that showcase the emirate’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Sustainable Tourism Initiatives

Wishi Restaurant at Najd Al Meqsar in Khorfakkan was awarded Best Luxury Unique Experience in the Middle East and Best Magnificent Scenic Views in the Middle East. The restaurant is located in a restored 100-year-old mountain village overlooking Wadi Wishi, offering guests a unique cultural experience. Najd Al Meqsar features seven luxury heritage units built within restored homes over 100 years old, with views of ancient mountains and petroglyphs dating back more than 2,000 BCE.

The awards demonstrate Sharjah Collection’s focus on ecotourism and cultural preservation. By restoring historic sites and promoting local culture, the company is contributing to the emirate’s economic and cultural growth while safeguarding the environment. The properties also offer opportunities for guests to engage with local communities and learn about the region’s history and traditions.

Regional Impact and Future Developments

The recognition at the World Luxury Awards is expected to further establish Sharjah as a global reference for sustainable luxury, according to industry observers. Sharjah Collection’s success is seen as a reflection of Shurooq’s vision for sustainable, culturally rooted development in the emirate. The company’s commitment to sustainability and cultural preservation is likely to influence future tourism development in the region.

As the tourism industry continues to evolve, Sharjah Collection is expected to remain at the forefront of sustainable tourism initiatives. The company’s focus on eco-luxury and cultural authenticity is likely to drive growth in the sector while promoting environmental stewardship and cultural preservation. With its commitment to sustainable tourism, Sharjah Collection is poised to continue shaping the future of the industry in the region.

Next Steps

The next step for Sharjah Collection is expected to be the expansion of its portfolio of sustainable tourism properties. The company is likely to continue investing in eco-friendly infrastructure and cultural preservation initiatives, further solidifying its position as a leader in the sector. Industry stakeholders will be watching to see how the company’s initiatives impact the local economy and environment.
