The Bahraini Farmers’ Market is set to open its new season on Saturday, 29 November 2025, running until 14 February 2026, at the Budaiya Farmers Market. This announcement was made by HE Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture. The market will feature top Bahraini farmers, local brands, artisans, and small businesses, providing a platform for them to showcase their products directly to consumers.

## Enhancing Food Security and Local Economy
HE Minister Al Mubarak praised the strong support from HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the agricultural sector, calling it a cornerstone for food security. He also highlighted government initiatives, guided by HH Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to develop the sector and encourage private investment. These efforts are expected to enhance the local economy by promoting Bahraini products and supporting local farmers.

The Minister commended the partnership with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, chaired by HRH Shaikha Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, and the support of STC Bahrain, which contributes to the market’s success and promotes local products. This collaboration is crucial for the market’s continued growth and its role in promoting local agricultural products.

## A Hub for Local Farmers and Artisans
This season, the market will host 32 local farmers, along with agricultural companies, nurseries, and apiaries. Visitors can enjoy craft activities, family-run businesses, educational and entertainment programs for children, and a variety of restaurants and cafés. The market provides a direct link between farmers and consumers, encouraging product diversity and innovation. It serves as a vibrant hub where local farmers and artisans can showcase their wares, connecting with the community and promoting their products.

The event is not just about shopping; it’s an experience that includes entertainment and educational activities. For instance, children can participate in craft activities, while adults can explore the variety of local products on offer. This makes the Bahraini Farmers’ Market a family-friendly destination that appeals to a wide range of visitors.

## Royal Support and Partnerships
HE Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the National Initiative, praised royal support and guidance from HRH Princess Sabeeka, noting that the market attracts thousands of visitors from Bahrain and abroad and strengthens public confidence in local agricultural products. The royal support is instrumental in the market’s success, as it underscores the importance of the agricultural sector in Bahrain’s economy and food security.

Eng. Khalid Al Osaimi, CEO of STC Bahrain, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the market annually, saying the partnership helps empower Bahraini farmers, showcase their products, and boost the national agricultural sector. The collaboration between STC Bahrain and the National Initiative for Agricultural Development is a key factor in the market’s continued success.

## Conclusion
The Bahraini Farmers’ Market is a significant event that promotes local agricultural products and supports the national economy. With its diverse range of activities and products, it is expected to attract a large number of visitors. The event is a testament to the government’s efforts to develop the agricultural sector and encourage private investment. As the market opens its new season, it is poised to continue its role in enhancing food security and promoting local products. Visitors are encouraged to attend and experience the variety of products and activities on offer, supporting local farmers and contributing to the local economy.
