The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, has announced a temporary full road closure of two slow lanes on Abdulaziz Bin Jasim Street for traffic coming from Lejbailat Intersection and heading toward the Television Intersection. The road closure, slated to take effect from 12 am on Friday, November 14, until 5 am on Sunday, November 16, aims to facilitate road development works and reinstatement.

Residents and commuters can expect significant disruptions during the closure period. According to Ashghal, the road works are part of a larger effort to improve Qatar’s infrastructure. The authority has urged road users to carefully observe the speed limits and use all available lanes or consider rerouting to nearby alternative routes to reach their destinations.

Road Development Works and Implications

The reinstatement and road development works are crucial for maintaining and enhancing the quality of Qatar’s road network. Ashghal’s efforts to upgrade the infrastructure are expected to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the long run. The authority’s initiatives are part of a broader strategy to support the country’s growing population and economy.

However, the short-term impact of the road closure will be felt by commuters. Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance and allow extra time to reach their destinations. The closure may also affect local businesses, particularly those relying on vehicular traffic.

Traffic Management and Alternative Routes

Ashghal has emphasized the importance of careful traffic management during the closure period. Road users are encouraged to follow the guidance provided by traffic signs and signals. Additionally, commuters can consider alternative routes to minimize disruptions.

Alternative Routes and Commuter Guidance

While specific alternative routes have not been detailed by Ashghal, commuters can expect to use nearby roads to bypass the closed section of Abdulaziz Bin Jasim Street. The authority has assured that necessary measures will be taken to ensure safe passage for road users. Meanwhile, motorists are advised to stay informed about the latest traffic updates through local news sources and traffic management apps.

In contrast to the disruptions caused by the road closure, the long-term benefits of the road development works are expected to be significant. The improved infrastructure will support the continued growth and development of Qatar’s economy. As the country continues to invest in its infrastructure, residents and businesses can expect to see positive impacts on their daily lives and operations.

As the road closure period comes to a close on November 16, commuters can look forward to the resumption of normal traffic flow. The next phase of road development works is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, according to the ministry. While the exact details of future projects remain uncertain, it is clear that Ashghal will continue to prioritize infrastructure development to support Qatar’s ongoing growth and development.
