The Sultan Qaboos Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers in Manah recently welcomed 47 students from various countries such as the United Kingdom, Russia, Belgium, and more. Additionally, 15 Arabic language teachers from Uzbek universities also joined the institute. The institute, located in the Wilayat of Manah in the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah, offers a range of activities to enhance the learning experience for students and teachers alike. These activities include lectures, educational trips, Arabic calligraphy lessons, art courses, and a “language partner” program.

In addition to language lessons, the institute also covers theoretical aspects of second language acquisition, teaching methods for foreign languages, models for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, teaching skills, designing language examinations, questionnaires, dialogue sessions, and various practical applications. The course duration is 8 weeks for non-native students and 4 weeks for non-native teachers. The hands-on approach taken by the institute aims to provide a comprehensive learning experience for all participants.

The institute’s dedication to teaching Arabic to non-native speakers is further demonstrated through the diverse range of students and teachers from countries such as South Korea, El Salvador, India, Iran, Australia, and Kazakhstan. The inclusion of teachers from Uzbek universities highlights the collaborative nature of the institute in promoting Arabic language education globally. By providing a platform for cultural exchange and language learning, the institute plays a crucial role in fostering international understanding and cooperation.

The immersive learning environment created by the Sultan Qaboos Institute includes not only language lessons but also cultural activities and visits to historical and natural sites. The emphasis on Arabic calligraphy and art courses adds a creative dimension to the learning process, enriching the students’ understanding of the language and its cultural context. The “language partner” program facilitates interaction between participants, allowing them to practice their language skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

Overall, the Sultan Qaboos Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers in Manah offers a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for students and teachers from around the world. With its focus on practical applications, cultural activities, and collaborative learning, the institute plays a vital role in promoting Arabic language education and fostering international connections. By bringing together students and teachers from diverse backgrounds, the institute creates a vibrant and inclusive learning community that celebrates linguistic diversity and cultural exchange.
