Civil Defense advises caution with thunderstorm forecast

The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Saudi Arabia has issued a warning to the public to be cautious and vigilant as thunderstorms are forecasted in various regions of the Kingdom. The public is advised to stay in safe areas and avoid valleys and flood-prone locations, especially for swimming. The guidelines shared on social media platforms should be followed due to the expected thunderstorms until January 8th in most regions of the country.

The Makkah region is expected to experience torrential downpours, hail, and dust-stirring winds. Areas such as Makkah City, Jeddah, Bahra, Al-Jumum, Rabigh, Kholais, and Al-Kamel are prone to heavy rains. Moderate to heavy rainfall is anticipated in Taif, Maysan, Al-Muwayh, Turbah, Al-Khurma, Rania, Al-Laith, and Al-Qunfudah. The Riyadh region is also expected to receive moderate to torrential downpours and hail.

Other regions such as Tabuk, Al-Jouf, Northern Borders, Hail, Qassim, Eastern Province, and Madinah will also experience moderate to heavy rainfall. The Civil Defense is urging the public to take precautions and follow safety measures during the thunderstorms to stay safe. It is important for individuals to remain indoors and away from flood-prone areas to avoid any potential danger.

It is crucial for the public to pay attention to the weather warnings and updates provided by the General Directorate of Civil Defense.
