Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha is gearing up for an increase in arriving passenger traffic from January 2 to 5, 2025. To ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for passengers, the airport has provided some key tips to support them through the arrival process.

One important tip for arriving passengers is to secure fragile items in the centre of hard-shell case bags to prevent damage. Baggage claim can be made easier with the help of QR codes that provide information on baggage belt locations as well as Flight Information Display Systems. It is also important to note that oversized or irregularly shaped baggage such as wheelchairs and child seats will arrive separately at belts A and B.

Arriving passengers are advised to keep their bag tags until they have exited the baggage reclaim area and to verify the tags before collecting their belongings. This will help prevent any confusion or mix-ups with baggage.

In terms of transportation options, HIA offers various choices for travellers to connect to the city. From curbside guidance to long stay parking with special rates, passengers have the flexibility to choose the most convenient option for their needs. Bus and taxi pavilions at the airport provide easy access to authorized taxis that uphold high performance standards and a robust lost and found policy.

For those looking to explore the city, the Hamad International Airport Metro Station is conveniently located near the terminal and connects to popular spots around Doha. Operating hours for the Doha Metro have been updated, with services running from 5am to 1am Saturday to Thursday and 9am to 1am on Fridays.

In addition, HIA offers over 20 car rental services near the arrival hall, providing passengers with more options for transportation. To further enhance the airport experience, customer service teams are available to assist travellers and the HIAQatar mobile app can also be used to access directions and information.

With these tips and transportation options in place, arriving passengers at Hamad International Airport can look forward to a seamless and enjoyable experience as they navigate through the airport and connect to the city of Doha.
