Excitement is building in Qatar as the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024 games approach, set to showcase European champions Real Madrid at iconic venues in the country. With a similar buzz expected to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the tournament will see top continental teams vying for three titles, including the prestigious FIFA Intercontinental Cup in the club competition. The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has confirmed their readiness to deliver another blockbuster event, with ticket sales for the tournament now underway.

The action kicks off at the stunning Stadium 974, where the FIFA Derby of the Americas will take place on December 11, featuring Mexican champions C.F Pachuca against the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores 2024 winners. The winners will then face Egyptian side Al Ahly SC in the FIFA Challenger Cup on December 14. Al Ahly SC, the winners of the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup, will take on the UEFA Champions League holders Real Madrid in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup on December 18 at the Lusail Stadium, coinciding with Qatar National Day.

LOC’s Marketing, Commercial & Ceremonies Executive Director Hassan Al Kuwari expressed his confidence in staging another successful event in Qatar, highlighting the opportunity for fans to witness some of the world’s best clubs and biggest football stars in action. Ticket sales for the tournament will be open to the general public from November 21, with Visa cardholders granted exclusive access to a pre-sale period starting from November 14. Al Kuwari emphasized the importance of purchasing tickets through the official FIFA ticketing platform to ensure entry, with tickets available for purchase at https://www.fifa.com/en/tickets.

Fans attending the matches at Lusail Stadium and Stadium 974 can expect a wide range of seating options, with a maximum of six tickets per person available for purchase. An official resale platform will also be made available at a later stage to facilitate ticket exchanges. Al Kuwari encouraged fans from around the world to experience the electric atmosphere and world-class venues in Qatar, with the promise of signature hospitality, cultural offerings, and seamless infrastructure for a memorable experience.

Qatar Football Association’s selection as the host for the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024 matches is based on their proven track record, extensive experience, and world-class infrastructure. The successful hosting of the FIFA Club World Cup editions in 2019 and 2020 further solidified Qatar’s ability to organize major football events. As preparations continue for the upcoming tournament, anticipation is high for fans and players alike to witness top-level football competition in Qatar’s spectacular venues.
