At the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman, conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and his wishes for the summit’s success. He expressed concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon due to Israeli aggression, which has resulted in the loss of lives and deprivation of basic rights. Sayyid Badr emphasized the need for joint action to provide relief aid and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the termination of Israel’s operations in Lebanon.

The minister highlighted the importance of conducting an independent international investigation into the violations in Gaza and Lebanon, stating that justice is essential for peace and accountability is necessary to end the ongoing suffering. He noted that the situation in Palestine and Lebanon has led to a dangerous escalation in the Middle East, posing a threat to regional stability. Sayyid Badr stressed the need for a comprehensive vision based on truth and justice to achieve stability in the region.

Sayyid Badr expressed Oman’s strong support for the initiative launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to form an international coalition for the Two-State Solution. He urged practical steps to be taken to achieve this goal, starting with the international recognition of the Palestinian State. The minister appreciated countries that have recognized the Palestinian State and called on others to join in to support justice and establish peace in the region.

In conclusion, Sayyid Badr reiterated the importance of sincere will and concrete action in achieving justice for the Palestinian cause. He prayed for the success of noble initiatives and for the support of Arab and Islamic nations in promoting justice and peace. Oman’s delegation to the summit included several officials, such as HH Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, the Ambassador of Oman to Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, the Ambassador of Oman to Egypt, and Sheikh Faisal bin Omar Al Marhoon, among others.
