The Intaj Exhibition at Ajyal 2024 in Doha will showcase 22 films capturing the raw and unfiltered moments from Gaza over the past year. These films explore various genres such as fiction, animation, and documentary, highlighting the resilience and creativity of Gaza’s artistic community in the face of challenges. Fatma Hassan Alremaihi, CEO of DFI and Festival Director, emphasized the importance of honoring the voices of Gaza’s creative community through these films, which showcase strength and artistic expression in difficult circumstances.

The exhibition, held at Msheireb Downtown Doha, aims to amplify underrepresented voices and shed light on the enduring spirit of Gaza through the anthology of short films. Sheikh Khalifa Al Thani, Creative Director of the Exhibition, emphasized the personal narratives of resilience portrayed in each film, reflecting the filmmakers’ experiences and their transformation into stories of strength and hope. The exhibition offers a unique perspective on resilience, courage, and humanity, aiming to provide a deeper understanding of Gaza and the Palestinian people’s suffering.

Anchored by filmmaker Rashid Masharawi, the 22 short films at Intaj: From Ground Zero Experience offer an intimate view of Gaza’s spirit through stories of hardship and hope. The diverse group of filmmakers involved in the project bring their unique perspectives to the exhibition, showcasing the resilience and creativity that thrive amidst challenging conditions. The event is part of Ajyal 2024, which will feature a total of 66 films from 42 countries, presenting themes of resilience, hope, and community empowerment to inspire audiences.

In addition to film screenings, the event will include interactive discussions, inclusive screenings, film exhibitions, and Qatar’s largest pop-culture event, Geekend. Events will take place at various locations including Katara, Sikkat Wadi Msheireb, Lusail, and VOX Cinemas Doha Festival City, providing a platform for audiences to engage with diverse and thought-provoking content. The exhibition and Ajyal 2024 as a whole aim to celebrate the power of storytelling and bring together communities to explore and appreciate the resilience and creativity of filmmakers from around the world.
