The 8th edition of the World of Yachts Conference in Doha, Qatar brought together marine experts from around the world to discuss the latest developments in the maritime industry. The conference, held at the St. Regis Doha, was organized alongside the Qatar Boat Show and featured panel discussions on topics such as yachting tourism and the relationship between tradition and innovation in the industry. The event aimed to advance global yachting development and raise awareness about the various facets of the maritime industry, showcasing advancements and technological innovations, including sustainable practices and eco-friendly solutions.

The conference highlighted emerging markets and new destinations in the maritime industry, providing attendees with valuable insights on market trends and growth opportunities. The event fostered a collaborative atmosphere that encouraged networking and inspired new partnerships to drive growth and innovation in maritime ventures worldwide. The World of Yachts Conference aligns with the mission of Old Doha Port, which has transformed into a bustling tourist destination that celebrates Qatar’s maritime heritage while embracing continuous innovation and purposeful impact.

The opening speech of the conference was delivered by Old Doha Port CEO Mohamed Abdulla Al-Mulla, who expressed excitement about supporting the gathering of global expertise in the marine industry. Ibrahim Farhat, Managing Director of The World of Yachts Group, also expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Old Doha Port to host the conference in Qatar for the first time. The event was described as a transformative moment in the yachting world that would create exciting opportunities for growth and innovation in the region.

Industry leaders such as Mohammed Hussein Al Shaali, Chairman of Gulf Craft, and Paris Baloumis, Group Marketing Director of Oceanco, participated in the conference and expressed their support for Qatar becoming a prominent yachting destination. The conference provided a platform to discuss the role of yachting and boating in Qatar’s maritime history and its potential for the future. Hisham AbuShakra, Middle East Agent for Heesen, praised the preparations for the upcoming Qatar Boat Show 2024 and predicted its success.

The inaugural edition of the Qatar Boat Show, hosted by Old Doha Port from November 6 to 9, aims to showcase Qatar’s rich coastal roots, attract visitors, and boost the local economy through tourism. The event is expected to draw over 20,000 visitors and feature more than 450 marine brands, highlighting Qatar’s capacity to host large-scale, internationally relevant events. The show will include sections catering to different aspects of maritime life, offering visitors the opportunity to explore luxury marine vessels, witness engaging demonstrations, and enjoy cultural performances.

Overall, the World of Yachts Conference and Qatar Boat Show are significant events that bring together industry experts, showcase technological advancements in the maritime industry, and promote Qatar as a leading destination for maritime tourism. These events provide a platform for networking, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas that will drive growth and innovation in the marine industry.
