Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has solidified its position as an essential player in the Greater Paris region, as highlighted in a new study by the Centre for Sports Law and Economics (CDES). The study, titled “Economic Impact and Social Utility of Paris Saint-Germain in the Greater Paris region for the 2023/2024 Season,” showcases the club’s significant contributions to the local economy.

For the 2023/2024 season, PSG generated an added economic value of €243m, representing a 25% increase from the previous season. The primary value-creating activity for PSG was the organization of sporting events, which generated €74.6m. Additionally, PSG is a major employer in the region, supporting 2,379 full-time equivalent jobs.

PSG’s European growth has also benefited the Greater Paris region, with revenues reaching €805m in 2023-2024. This places PSG as the 3rd highest revenue-generating club in Europe, with an annual growth average of 17.9% since 2010-2011. The total fiscal contribution for the 2023/2024 season amounted to over €371m, a 44% increase from the 2018-2019 season.

Furthermore, PSG For Communities, the entity responsible for philanthropic activities, supported nearly 15,000 young people through over 450 operations during the 2023/2024 season. Since 2000, PSG For Communities has benefited over 300,000 beneficiaries. The foundation will host a large student-focused food drive at the Parc des Princes, highlighting its commitment to social impact.

PSG CEO Victoriano Melero emphasized PSG’s commitment to the Greater Paris region, recognizing the support of passionate fans and stakeholders. The club has demonstrated significant growth as an economic driver and job creator for the region since 2011. PSG is equally dedicated to its role as a socially responsible organization through PSG For Communities, empowering young people throughout the region.

Alexandra Dublanche, Vice President for the Greater Paris region, praised PSG as an economic powerhouse that contributes to the region’s attractiveness and international influence. PSG’s investment, development, and employment opportunities make it a major player in the capital region, beyond its status as a globally renowned sports entity.

Fabien Allègre, Vice President of PSG For Communities, expressed pride in the positive impact the foundation has on young Parisians, supporting their sports and citizenship development. The commitment of PSG For Communities’ teams plays a crucial role in helping young people throughout the Greater Paris region. PSG’s social and fiscal contributions align with those of major companies, showcasing its significant support for the region.
