The Supervisory Committee for the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030) recently held its first meeting in Muscat, chaired by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Committee. The meeting focused on preparations for Oman Vision 2040’s second executive plan. Fourteen technical teams were formed, consisting of 220 members with national expertise and professional competencies. These teams represent various sectors, including government, security, military, academic, private, and civil society institutions.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the plan’s governance methods, the functioning mechanism of the technical teams, and the timetable for implementation. It also discussed tasks and responsibilities, ensuring consistency between medium-term and long-term plans. Emphasis was placed on coordination among relevant parties in ministries and governorates across Oman to ensure efficient implementation and achieve desired objectives.

The committee’s main responsibilities include preparing the general framework for the 11th Five-Year Development Plan, proposing the economic and financial framework, as well as policies and strategies to achieve the plan’s objectives. By bringing together experts from various sectors, the committee aims to create a comprehensive and cohesive plan that addresses the country’s development needs and aligns with Oman Vision 2040.

With a focus on national expertise and professional competencies, the formation of 14 technical teams signifies a commitment to thorough planning and implementation of the development plan. By involving representatives from government, security, military, academic, private, and civil society institutions, the committee ensures a holistic approach to development that considers diverse perspectives and opinions.

By emphasizing coordination among relevant parties in ministries and governorates, the committee aims to streamline decision-making processes and facilitate efficient implementation of the development plan.
