The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Oman has recently announced that registration for the 1446 Hajj season is now open. Citizens and residents in Oman who are aged 18 and above and wish to perform the Hajj pilgrimage can register online from 4 to 17 November on the official portal at www.hajj.om. This year, Oman has been allocated a quota of 14,000 pilgrims to participate in the Hajj pilgrimage.

There are three methods for registration outlined by the Ministry: applicants can register using their civil ID, personal card, or mobile number, provided they have an electronic authentication system. Applicants who meet specific criteria, such as men aged 67 and older, women aged 65 and older, or individuals with visual or motor disabilities, are eligible to be accompanied by a registered companion. Female applicants must also designate a mahram, or close male relative, who is already registered in the system. To ensure communication, applicants must provide a valid civil ID, a personal mobile number, or an email address to receive system notifications regarding registration updates and procedural communications. If needed, technical support is available through the Ministry’s hotline at 80008008 during working hours, or inquiries can be submitted online through the Hajj portal’s contact section.

To maintain transparency, the Ministry has prohibited Hajj companies from intervening in the registration process. Applicants are reminded to complete their registrations directly through the official system, selecting their preferred Hajj type and attaching any necessary documentation if applying on behalf of others. For applicants applying on behalf of an incapacitated or deceased individual, medical reports or certified wills must be uploaded for validation. While registration does not guarantee an allocation, those deemed eligible will be notified based on data verification within the 14,000 pilgrim limit set by Saudi Arabian authorities. Once selected, the applicant must choose a Hajj company from the Ministry’s authorized list, complete medical checks, including COVID-19 vaccinations, and pay all relevant fees to confirm their place. If deadlines are missed, the Ministry will reassign spots accordingly.

The Ministry has emphasized that applications submitted outside of the official portal or after the deadline will not be accepted. Aspiring pilgrims are urged to adhere to the registration guidelines and procedures to ensure a smooth and successful application process. The Hajj pilgrimage is a significant religious journey for Muslims, and it is essential to follow the regulations set by the Ministry to participate in this spiritual experience. The opening of registration for the 1446 Hajj season provides an opportunity for eligible individuals in Oman to fulfill this important pillar of Islam and embark on a meaningful journey of faith and devotion.
