Dar Al Atta’a celebrated the conclusion of its 8th edition of Al Atta Giving Greater Competition at Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Muscat under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Fahr bin Fatik bin Fahr Al Said on October 28. Team Tablil from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences Nizwa won the prize for securing the highest revenues, while teams Ihya’a and Ma’ad from the same university received the prize for having the most influence on society. Team Bani Al Khair from Muscat College was awarded for being the most creative, and Team Thara from Sultan Qaboos University was recognized as the most professional. Additionally, Team Kahatin from Modern College of Business and Science recieved the exceptional prize.

The competition raised over OMR70,000 and was started by Dar Al Atta’a in 2012. The goal of the initiative is to initiate and execute a project for collecting donations in support of the programs of Dar Al Atta’a. Teams from various universities and colleges compete to achieve the targeted goals of spreading awareness about the significance of voluntary work and encouraging youth involvement in volunteerism. This year, 26 teams from different universities and colleges participated, with 14 teams advancing to represent their institutions including The University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Nizwa, Sultan Qaboos University, Modern College of Business and Science, Majan College, Arab Open University, and Muscat College.

The qualified teams competed for four prizes: the teams with the highest revenues, the teams with the most influence on society, the most creative team, and the most professional team in execution. Shaza bint Abbas, a member of Dar Al Atta’a Association, delivered a speech about the organization and highlighted its charity work. A video presentation showcasing the stages of the competition, as well as other activities and contributions of Dar Al Atta’a members, was also screened during the event.

Throughout the competition, Dar Al Atta’a honored Hamad bin Saud Al Busaidi from Team Ghouth and Tamima bint Ali Al Nasseri from Team Burwaz for their exceptional efforts and contributions to their respective teams. As a result of the dedication and hard work of the participating teams, the initiative successfully raised a significant amount of funds to support Dar Al Atta’a programs. The competition serves as a platform to promote the values of volunteerism and encourage young individuals to engage in charitable activities for the betterment of society.

Professionals from various fields were present to witness the talent and creativity displayed by the participating teams. The competition not only focused on fundraising but also on the impact that these projects have on society. It provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their leadership, teamwork, and project management skills. The event highlighted the importance of community service and the role that young individuals play in making a positive difference through voluntary work.

Dar Al Atta’a’s commitment to promoting charitable initiatives and encouraging youth involvement in volunteer work was evident throughout the competition. The organization continues to support and inspire individuals to contribute to the betterment of society through acts of kindness and generosity. The success of the 8th edition of the Al Atta Giving Greater Competition is a testament to the positive impact that collaborative efforts and dedication to charitable causes can have on communities.
