The Sultanate of Oman has seen a significant growth in its telecommunications sector with the entry of global companies, including Vodafone Oman. This has resulted in a positive competitive environment within the sector. Vodafone Oman’s partnership with Vodafone International has allowed for the deployment of fifth-generation networks, boosting digital solutions and enhancing the user experience in Oman. CEO Eng. Badr bin Saud Al-Zaidi highlighted the company’s efforts in developing infrastructure and investing over OMR130 million in 2022 and 2023, with a focus on expanding the fifth-generation network, showcasing cutting-edge technology such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

Vodafone Oman aims to cover 95 percent of populated areas by the end of 2024, a significant increase from the 78 percent coverage achieved in the previous year. This expansion is set to further enhance digital transformation efforts in the country. The company has experienced a remarkable 174 percent growth in operating revenues over the past two years, illustrating its ability to compete in the local market and provide digital solutions that cater to subscriber needs. Eng. Badr Al-Zaidi emphasized Vodafone Oman’s commitment to supporting small and medium enterprises, with an Omanization rate of 95 percent, showcasing its dedication to hiring and empowering local talent.

In addition to its focus on national economic development, Vodafone Oman also places a strong emphasis on training and qualifying Omani youth through various initiatives in collaboration with Vodafone International. The company’s commitment to environmental sustainability is evident through its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint by adopting highly efficient technologies to minimize energy consumption. This aligns with global goals to achieve net zero by 2050, positioning Vodafone Oman as a leader in sustainability within the telecommunications industry.

Looking towards the future, Vodafone Oman aims to provide advanced digital communication solutions that help individuals and businesses navigate the challenges of the evolving market. The company’s operations are centered around artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, positioning it as a key strategic partner in Oman’s digital transformation journey. By enabling Omani companies to leverage modern technologies and develop innovative solutions, Vodafone Oman strives to support business growth and increase flexibility, ultimately contributing to Oman’s overall economic development and technological advancement.
