Aspire Academy’s grade 12 student-athletes recently participated in an “Office Experience Simulation Exercise” organized by the Academy’s Human Resources (HR) team. The purpose of this event was to provide the young athletes with a realistic experience of applying for jobs and integrating into the workplace. Director of Human Resources, Khalid AlHamar, emphasized the importance of preparing student-athletes for life after school, not just academically but also in terms of professional skills and readiness for the workplace. The collaboration between the HR team and the school aims to equip Qatar’s future leaders with the necessary tools and information to succeed in their careers.

Through role-play and workshop interactions with HR team members, the student-athletes learned about compiling CVs, the recruitment process, preparing for interviews, and navigating the workplace environment. Each workstation presented practical tasks and scenarios designed to help participants understand the daily operations and expectations of a professional workplace. The student-athletes were evaluated on their engagement, problem-solving skills, task performance, and ability to work within a team. Feedback was provided to help them identify their strengths and areas for improvement.

The hands-on and immersive experience allowed the student-athletes to gain insight into company policies and procedures, enhancing their understanding of how businesses operate. By earning points at each workstation and receiving feedback, student-athletes had the opportunity to develop their personal skills and improve their overall readiness for the workplace. The exercise emphasized teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication as essential components of success in a professional environment.

Overall, the “Office Experience Simulation Exercise” was a valuable opportunity for Aspire Academy student-athletes to learn and practice important skills needed for transitioning from education to the workplace. The collaboration between the HR team and the school underscores the Academy’s commitment to developing well-rounded individuals who are prepared for the challenges of the professional world. Through practical tasks, role-play, and feedback, the student-athletes were able to enhance their understanding of what it takes to succeed in a professional setting.

In conclusion, the event served as a comprehensive and interactive learning experience for Aspire Academy student-athletes, providing them with the opportunity to explore various aspects of the job application process and workplace dynamics. By equipping them with practical knowledge and skills, the Academy aims to prepare these young athletes for successful careers beyond their academic pursuits. The hands-on approach and focus on teamwork and professional development highlight the Academy’s dedication to fostering Qatar’s future leaders through holistic education and practical experiences.
