Ministry of Social Development and Family introduces Watad Consultation Clinic

The Ministry of Social Development and Family in Doha, Qatar has recently launched the Watad Clinic for marriage and family therapy/consultation, in collaboration with the Family Consulting Center (Wifaq). The clinic aims to provide free and confidential support for families facing psychological, social, and educational challenges, with the goal of boosting societal cohesion. The inauguration ceremony was attended by various officials, including judges from the Supreme Judicial Council, senior MSDF officials, and representatives from social centers.

Eng. Jabr Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Executive Director of Wifaq, highlighted the importance of providing reliable and professional marital and family counseling services to meet the growing societal needs. The clinic offers a safe platform for families to communicate with specialized consultants in the field, with the ultimate goal of building strong family relationships that contribute to social cohesion and preserve the family unit. This initiative goes beyond just providing consultations, as it aims to help families overcome crises and enhance understanding for all family members.

Abdullah Mohammed Al Hajri, the Social Security Administration Director at MSDF, emphasized that the Watad Clinic’s consultations are not limited to just couples, but extend to all family members. The purpose is to assist families in overcoming challenges and improving their relationships in order to strengthen social bonds. Since its launch, the clinic has provided up to 1,590 consultations by the third quarter of the year, indicating a positive response from families seeking support.
