Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie recently honored students who won two medals at the International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO 2024) in the Philippines. The event, held in Clark City from July 31 to August 7, featured 55 students from 15 Asian countries. Student Jalvandi Ibrahim from Mesaieed International School secured the silver medal, while student Aditya Vivek Srinath from Modern Indian School earned the bronze medal. The Minister also recognized employees from the Radiation Protection Department and supervisors from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for their efforts in promoting education and developing scientific skills among students.

The INSO 2024 competition featured two tests, including a five-hour theoretical exam and a practical experiment or simulation in the field of nuclear science. The success of these Qatari students highlights the collaboration between the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in supporting scientific education. This achievement was part of a regional technical cooperation project with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) aimed at enhancing the teaching of nuclear science and technology in secondary and university levels. Through this partnership, students are able to gain valuable experience and knowledge in the field of nuclear science, preparing them for future endeavors in the industry.

The recognition of these talented students and educators underscores Qatar’s commitment to promoting scientific excellence and innovation. By participating in international competitions like the INSO 2024, students are given the opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge on a global stage. This not only helps them build confidence and develop their talents but also contributes to the overall advancement of scientific research and education in the country. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is dedicated to supporting such initiatives and providing resources for students to excel in their academic pursuits.

The success of Jalvandi Ibrahim and Aditya Vivek Srinath at the INSO 2024 is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the field of nuclear science. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to other students in Qatar, encouraging them to pursue their passions and strive for excellence in their academic endeavors. By recognizing and celebrating their accomplishments, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change aims to motivate more students to participate in similar competitions and showcase their talents on an international platform. This not only raises the profile of Qatar in the field of nuclear science but also fosters a culture of innovation and excellence among the youth.

In conclusion, the recent honors bestowed upon the Qatari students and educators at the INSO 2024 signify the country’s commitment to promoting scientific education and research. Through partnerships with international organizations like the IAEA, Qatar is able to provide students with opportunities to excel in the field of nuclear science and technology. The success of Jalvandi Ibrahim and Aditya Vivek Srinath serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of both the students and their mentors. By continuing to support and recognize the achievements of talented individuals in the field of science, Qatar is paving the way for a brighter and more innovative future for its youth.
