Burjeel Holdings, a leading healthcare provider in the MENA region, recently introduced two innovative healthcare solutions at the Global Health Exhibition 2024 in Saudi Arabia. These initiatives, Alkalma and Burjeel One, align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and aim to revolutionize healthcare delivery in the region. Alkalma, a mental health and well-being platform, is a joint venture between Burjeel Holdings and Keralty, a healthcare leader based in Colombia. It aims to reach nearly 30 million patients across the MENA region over the next decade by enhancing preventive care, managing health risks, and reducing hospitalizations. Burjeel One, on the other hand, is a network of day surgery centers that will offer minimally invasive procedures in key specialties such as oncology, gynecology, orthopedics, and neurology.
Founding and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings, Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, briefed Saudi Health Minister Fahad Al-Jalajel on the new initiatives at the Global Health Exhibition. These new healthcare solutions aim to address the increasing demand for high-quality same-day medical services and support the Kingdom’s shift towards a comprehensive healthcare model. By incorporating advanced robotics and cutting-edge technologies, the first two Burjeel One centers are set to open in Riyadh by 2025 and will provide world-class care without the need for prolonged hospital stays.
The launch of Alkalma and Burjeel One reflects Burjeel Holdings’ commitment to transforming healthcare in the region by integrating advanced technologies and value-based care models. These initiatives address the growing need for accessible mental health services and specialized ambulatory care while aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. In addition to these new services, Burjeel Holdings has also successfully expanded PhysioTherabia, Saudi Arabia’s largest and fastest-growing physiotherapy network, to 28 centers since its launch in 2023. These new initiatives will enhance the network, offering integrated care from mental health to specialized surgery and rehabilitation.
At the Global Health Exhibition, Burjeel Holdings showcased its commitment to advancing healthcare under the theme ‘Making Space for Innovation.’ Attendees had the opportunity to experience live demos of advanced physiotherapy equipment and learn about the complex care services offered by Burjeel across specialties like fetal medicine, orthopedics, oncology, pediatrics, and cardiovascular care. Key healthcare leaders, including Dr. Majid Al-Fayyadh, CEO of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Abd Al-Aali, Assistant Minister of Health, were introduced to the new brands that the Group is launching in the Kingdom.
