The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) is gearing up for the 9th edition of the World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism in 2024. Scheduled to take place on November 18-19 at Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB), this event will bring together culinary and tourism experts from around the globe. Registration is currently open until October 31, 2024, offering participants the opportunity to engage in panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitions showcasing industry innovations. Additionally, a high-profile international competition featuring renowned chefs will highlight their skills and promote knowledge exchange.

Organized in collaboration between BTEA, the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), and the Basque Culinary Centre, this prestigious forum aims to create a platform for local and international leaders in culinary arts and gastronomy tourism to connect. Ms. Sara Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of BTEA and Chairperson of EWB, expressed her enthusiasm for hosting this event in Bahrain, marking the first time it will be held in the Middle East. She highlighted the forum as an opportunity for chefs, stakeholders, and participants to stay updated on the latest trends in gastronomy tourism and encouraged global experts to participate in the world’s largest culinary tourism platform.

The World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism is expected to facilitate communication and collaboration among professionals in the tourism and gastronomy sectors. It will promote the exchange of ideas, best practices, and innovative strategies to establish gastronomy as a key component of global tourism development. This event is set to provide a unique networking opportunity for participants to connect with industry leaders, gain insights into emerging trends, and contribute to the advancement of gastronomy tourism on a global scale.

The forum will feature a range of activities aimed at showcasing the intersection of culinary arts and tourism, including panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitions. Through these platforms, participants will have the chance to learn about the latest industry trends, share best practices, and explore innovative strategies for leveraging gastronomy as a driving force in tourism development. The international competition, featuring top chefs from around the world, will not only showcase their culinary expertise but also facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-cultural exchange.

As the event approaches, interested participants can register through the official UNWTO website for the Gastronomy Tourism Forum. This registration portal offers a seamless process for individuals looking to secure their spot at this global gathering of culinary and tourism experts. The forum promises to be a significant opportunity for professionals in the industry to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the advancement of gastronomy tourism on a global scale. Don’t miss out on this chance to be part of the conversation and make your mark on the future of gastronomy tourism.
