The Cabinet meeting in Doha, Qatar, chaired by Prime Minister HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, discussed several important issues. The meeting began with praise for HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s successful state visits to Italy and Germany, highlighting the strong relations between Qatar and these nations. The Cabinet also commended HH the Amir’s speech at the First Gulf Cooperation Council-European Union Summit, emphasizing the importance of cooperation amidst global challenges.

Among the decisions made during the meeting, the Cabinet approved a draft restructuring of the Climate Change and Clean Development Committee, reflecting Qatar’s commitment to combating climate change. Additionally, a draft decision was approved to regulate working hours in various establishments, aiming to protect workers’ rights and enhance productivity. Another decision focused on promoting tourism activities on registered farms to increase farmers’ income and raise awareness about agricultural practices.

The Cabinet endorsed measures to ratify the protocol amending the double taxation agreement with Norway and approved air services agreements with Libya and a memorandum of understanding with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The meeting also reviewed annual reports from the National Traffic Safety Committee and the Communications Regulatory Authority, taking appropriate actions based on the findings.

Overall, the Cabinet meeting highlighted Qatar’s diplomatic engagements, commitment to climate action, and efforts to improve working conditions and support economic growth. The decisions made during the meeting reflect Qatar’s ongoing efforts to strengthen alliances, enhance regulatory frameworks, and promote sustainable development across various sectors. As Qatar continues to play a prominent role on the global stage, these initiatives demonstrate its dedication to advancing cooperation, innovation, and prosperity both domestically and internationally.
