The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in Oman has announced the end of registration for the “Governorate Ambassador for Digital Transition” initiative. This program aims to increase awareness about smart digital services and solutions in Oman and their importance in transitioning to a digital lifestyle. Over 520 Omani and non-Omani volunteers have registered for the initiative, which will select 66 ambassadors from different governorates in Oman. These ambassadors will undergo training to prepare them for their roles in serving their communities.
The selected ambassadors will be divided into three groups based on their level of experience and understanding of digital technologies. The “Initiator” group is for those with basic experience, while the “Advanced” group is for those with moderate experience in areas such as data analysis, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, electronic applications development, and cloud computing. The “Specialist” group will consist of participants with deep knowledge and extensive experience in digital transition, including academic and professional qualifications in the field.
Each group of ambassadors will have different roles, such as spreading awareness about digital services, promoting the use of smart applications, and introducing target segments to electronic payment systems and other advanced technologies. This initiative is part of Oman’s efforts to promote community awareness and encourage the adoption of digital solutions for a more efficient and connected society.
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology is leading the initiative through the National Programme for Government Digital Transition (Tahawul). The goal is to enhance digital literacy and empower individuals in Oman to utilize technology for their personal and professional development. By training and mobilizing ambassadors in different governorates, the program aims to create a network of advocates who can help bridge the digital divide and promote the benefits of digital transition across the country.
The initiative also reflects Oman’s commitment to embracing digital transformation and harnessing the power of technology to drive economic growth and social development. By empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills to navigate the digital landscape, Oman is positioning itself as a leader in the region when it comes to innovation and digitalization. The selected ambassadors will play a crucial role in driving this vision forward and ensuring that all members of society can benefit from the opportunities that digital technologies offer.
In conclusion, the “Governorate Ambassador for Digital Transition” initiative in Oman is a significant step towards promoting digital literacy and fostering community engagement with smart digital services. By training and mobilizing ambassadors from different governorates, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology is paving the way for a more connected and technologically advanced society. Through awareness campaigns and educational programs, the ambassadors will help empower individuals to embrace digital solutions and make the most of the opportunities that technology offers for personal and professional growth.
