In November, the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) will be hosting a variety of international performances, showcasing the best of Portuguese soul music, military marching bands, jazz, and more. The calendar is packed with events designed to cater to a wide range of tastes and interests, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy. The month kicks off with a performance by Cristina Branco, a legendary Fado singer known for her emotional and authentic delivery. This will be followed by the annual military music festival, featuring Oman’s military and police marching bands as well as bands from Jordan and Austria.
One of the highlights of the month will be a special open-air concert by Emirati superstar Ahlam, who will be performing her most beloved songs in a unique and intimate setting. This will be followed by two nights of jazz featuring the talented Anthony Strong and the Latvian Radio Big Band. Strong is known for his renditions of jazz classics as well as his own original songs, making this a must-see event for jazz enthusiasts. Additionally, audiences can look forward to Coffee and Dates, a special event where Strong will be in conversation with Umberto Fanni in the Music Library.
The education team at ROHM is also launching two new initiatives in November aimed at inspiring love for reading, writing, and the theatre among young audiences. These initiatives include presentations of beloved stories like Geronimo Stilton and Beauty and the Beast, as well as workshops on bringing characters to life on the written page. These initiatives are designed to spark the imagination and creativity of children, helping to foster a lifelong love of the arts.
The month will culminate with a special Lunch Music event featuring Opera di Monte Carlo singers performing arias from La Fille du Regiment at the Opera Galleria. This event offers a unique opportunity to experience a range of musical genres and styles in a laid-back and intimate setting.
