The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia, Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi, announced that a significant number of Saudi citizens have joined the local employment market for the first time in 2024. A total of 364,000 individuals have found jobs, marking a major achievement in the country’s efforts to boost employment rates. Al-Rajhi also highlighted that a total of 50 decisions have been made to localize high-quality jobs over the past four years, particularly in professions such as accounting, pharmacy, and radiology in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Investment.

During a dialogue session at the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh, Al-Rajhi emphasized the increasing efficiency of young Saudi men and women in the health sector. The unemployment rate in Saudi Arabia currently stands at 3 percent, with the rate of unemployment among Saudis decreasing to 7 percent. He also noted the significant progress in women’s participation in the labor market, which has increased from less than 20 percent five years ago to 35 percent today, surpassing the goals set by Vision 2030.

Al-Rajhi underscored the importance of the non-profit sector, which aims to contribute five percent to the country’s economy, compared to the current one percent. He mentioned the remarkable growth rate of non-profit institutions, which has increased by 150 percent over the past three years, with the number of institutions reaching 5,000. To achieve the country’s ambitions, Al-Rajhi highlighted the need for increased investments in the non-profit sector to drive further growth and development.

In his speech, Al-Rajhi praised the efforts of young Saudi men and women who have proven their capabilities in various sectors, particularly the health sector. The government’s initiatives to localize high-quality jobs and increase employment opportunities for Saudi nationals have shown promising results, with a significant decrease in the unemployment rate among Saudis. Al-Rajhi also emphasized the importance of continuing to support and invest in the non-profit sector to further enhance its contribution to the country’s economy.

The Minister’s announcement of the increasing number of Saudi citizens entering the local job market reflects the government’s commitment to boosting employment rates and providing opportunities for its citizens. With the implementation of 50 decisions to localize high-quality jobs in key sectors, Saudi Arabia is making significant progress towards achieving its Vision 2030 goals. The country’s focus on increasing women’s participation in the labor market and investing in the non-profit sector demonstrates its dedication to driving economic growth and development.

In conclusion, Minister Al-Rajhi’s remarks at the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh highlight the achievements and ongoing efforts to enhance the employment landscape in Saudi Arabia. The government’s initiatives to localize high-quality jobs, increase women’s participation in the labor market, and boost the non-profit sector’s contribution to the economy are key steps towards achieving the country’s long-term goals. As more Saudi citizens enter the workforce and contribute to the country’s growth, Saudi Arabia is poised to maintain its position as a leading economy in the region.
