Two expatriates tragically lost their lives when an old building collapsed on them in the Wilayat of Sur, South Al Sharqiyah Governorate in Muscat. The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) confirmed the incident, stating that rescue teams had been dispatched to the scene. The CDAA reported that the bodies of two Asian nationals were recovered from the rubble and they were pronounced dead on site.

The incident occurred early in the morning, and rescue efforts were immediately initiated by the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate. The news of the building collapse and subsequent fatalities has shocked the local community and highlights the importance of maintaining and inspecting old buildings to prevent such tragedies from occurring.

Witnesses at the scene reported scenes of chaos and devastation as emergency responders worked tirelessly to recover the bodies of the victims. The collapse of the building serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety and stability of structures, particularly in areas with older buildings that may be more susceptible to damage.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the building collapse, as residents and officials seek answers as to what led to the tragic incident. The CDAA is working to determine if any negligence or structural issues contributed to the collapse, and to prevent similar accidents from happening in the future.

The deaths of the two expatriates have sent shockwaves through the local community, prompting discussions about the safety of buildings in the area and the need for enhanced regulations and inspections. The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the potential dangers posed by aging infrastructure and the importance of prioritizing the safety of residents and workers.

As the investigation into the building collapse continues, authorities are urging residents and building owners to be vigilant about the condition of structures in order to prevent similar tragedies. The CDAA is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals in Muscat and will continue to work towards improving safety standards and preventing accidents in the future.
