Al Ghorrah for Literature and Arts, organized by Qatar Foundation, is a platform for local talents, artists, and creators to showcase their abilities on a regional stage. This event will take place from November 28 to December 2 at Qatar Foundation’s Education City, celebrating the heritage and arts of Arab Islamic civilizations. The deadline for submissions is November 5, and participation is free. Interested applicants can visit the website for more information.

Hend M. Al Thawadi, Engagement & Activation Lead at QF, stated that Al Ghorrah aims to promote the rich heritage of Arab-Islamic civilizations through various art forms and cultural expressions. The event is designed to foster unity and belonging across diverse communities, while supporting grassroots artists by providing them with opportunities to showcase their talents. Al Ghorrah is also committed to nurturing cultural and literary heritage within schools in Qatar and the region, ensuring that the next generation remains connected to their roots.

Al Ghorrah will offer educational and entertaining experiences for visitors, allowing them to explore history, reconnect with their roots, and enjoy a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere. The event invites artists from various disciplines to share their expression through performances in Arabic and English. Submissions can range from five minutes to an hour and may include theatrical performances, musical acts, poetry readings, puppetry, magic shows, and more. The goal is to provide a unique space for artists and visitors to connect and participate in immersive experiences.

As part of Al Ghorrah, QF is hosting a competition for local elementary and middle schools, inviting students to perform 15-25-minute-long acts. Schools will audition in front of a panel of judges, and the top four will be selected to perform at the event. This competition aims to engage young talents and nurture their creativity and cultural connection. If you are an artist, creator, or school interested in participating in Al Ghorrah for Literature and Arts, don’t miss the opportunity to showcase your talents and be part of this cultural celebration. Visit the website for more information on how to submit your work and be a part of this exciting event.
